I wonder what three obsolete aircraft were traded for the Brewster. On the flip side I am surprised the the AH, WB and IL-2 players from Finland didn't try to scrap up enough cash to persuade the Russians to sell them the aircraft instead of us crazy Americans.

I hope they restore it in Finnish colors. That is the only place that it earned honor and gave good service.

Does anybody know anything about that particular aircraft's service? Who was flying it and what his fate was?

Question: Since this is truly the last of its kind, if it is fully restored should it be risked in airshows or put on permanent static display?

Since the Navy got it for their Museum, there is little doubt it will not fly again.

The question will be as to whether they restore it in Navy markings, or leave it in the actual Finnish Markings it wore during it's combat career.

I hope they restore it as it was in combat.

It is not the last of it's kind however, as there are remains of some Dutch Buffalo's that are potential restorations and rumors of others too.
