Man this is great...takes a bit of breaking the "twisty stick mentality..but Man 'o Man... I loosened up the throttle... been screwing around with "Janes Air Superiority"  and it takes alot to learn.

I just don't know how to program the buttions..

I like the 2 handed action... it's like when I....errr never mind...

BTW how do you program the buttons to what you want?

Basically you use the software that comes with the stick, and take the letters from the keyboard layout for the commands you want, and assign them to the different buttons on the X45.  Example: the "N" key fires both your primary and secondary weapons at the same time.  You assign the trigger the function "N."   It's more difficult than it sounds.

OR...if you look around on the boards, you can find postings by EAGLER.  He has been kind enough to share a file with his stick settings in it.  I took his, opened it up to see how it worked, and adjusted some things to my personal preferences.  (I would put mine on here for you, but I'm not quite sure how to do that...)

No one helps a MAW.  I knew when I was a cubscout and tried to help and old lady cross the road...Poor woman didn't know I was color blind... as I jump out of the way all she said was "CHIT"

All iI heard after that is "Wait til yer MAW hears about this'n"... Ever scince it's been "Gonn tell yer MAW, "Yer MAW is gonna be spittin mad" ....ect...


My Maw drove me to the MAW's..that and BGB & Urb the hand muppet...

Err, I just program the buttons in game.

Plus I turned my two rotaries into trim.  I'm still playing around with the auxilary switch to see if I can get more commands onto the stick.

How does that rudder switch work?..That's what put me off buying the thing.

The X-45 has the rudder on the throttle.  Rudder is operated with the left hand.

The newest stick and throttle by that company (X-75?) returns to the twist-stick concept.

X45 profile

My profile is set up for trim on rotors with rudder set for CH Pro Peds - you'll have to reset the throttle rocker back to axis and assign the rudder axis to it in the AH jstick config

Odds running 3/5 that in a fit of un-lubricated rage, he twists the stick out of the base and plants it in his monitor inside of 2 weeks.

One thing I havent seen anyone mention.....Do NOT use the software that comes with the stick. Goto Saiteks website and download the latest version. The software in the box doesnt utilize the stick to its max ability. Also make sure when installing it you select advanced user when it asks what kind of user you will be.


Its a great stick. Enjoy!

a) rtfm :)

b) find an E3 in your command who will RTFM for you and have him do it :lol

Once you get used to using it, you're gonna love it. Course around about that time, the hat switch will start to go south on you.  Usually happens in the middle of a tense fight, after you've already got a healthy bunch of scalps hanging from your belt.;)

Hmm, I've never had any problems except with the springs getting sloppy, and I'm pretty ham-fisted on the unit.  About everything 9-12 months I replace it with another $39 refurbished X45.

Sirloin, I didn't like rudder on throttle, so I paired the unit up with CH Pro peddles.
