Montana car accident.

I was driving home from work this evening and had to slam on my brakes due to a 150lb black bear crossing the highway in front of me.  This reminded me to post this pic of a car accident I ran here on sunday.  The guy in the white car lived, the guy in the landcruiser died after he was ejected and ran over by the dodge truck, you can see the body covered up in the back ground.

How do you know the bear weighs 150 pounds?

Just a guess on the bear based on a life time of being out in the wilderness and many years of hunting.  I might be off by 10-20lbs but 150 is very close.

The World Record for an American Black Bear is around 880 pounds.

black bears are usually something like 500 pounds...a 150 pounder would have to be a baby...

Black Bears aren't all that big.  But they are good at causing trouble.

Dont matter if it was 150lbs or 500lbs, it still wouldn't have been a good thing hitting it.  Thats kinda like smashing your finger in a door or with a hammer, they both are bad.

250-300lbs is an average..500lbs would be a trophy
150lbs would be a 1-1/2 -2 year old

I didn't say he was huge, just said he was about 150lbs, Im thinking winter/spring 2002 cub.  

Only ever seen one black bear that was over 400lbs, just fricking huge for a black bear.  And he was following me...
