Suggestions for New Skins
« on: August 21, 2004, 02:16:29 PM »
First, a huge thank you to all who have contributed skins.  I wish I could figure out how to make skins and maps, but I am such a computer moron... :(

So, all I can do is suggest what I'd like to see.  This topic came up on channel 200 a short time ago.

An obvious one:

an OLIVE DRAB P-38

Someone also suggested:

a Bf-110 NIGHT FIGHTER

Someone also suggested that was meaningless until night scenarios are flown with friendly icons only. :lol

Other suggestions:

DESERT CAMOFLAGE FOR THE: Ju-87, Ju-88, and Bf-110

WINTER CAMOFLAGE FOR Ju-87, Ju-88, and Bf-110

A desert, winter, and forest camoflage design for each GV.

And, finally, my copy of David Mondey's book "Axis Aircraft of World War 2" shows Ki-67 serial number 48 as DARK GREEN, not dog-poop brown. Could it be easily changed?

I look forward to reading your suggestions.

Furball, i could probably get that spit5 done if you'd like.

Also, MRPLUTO, P-38s have an unremoveable black and yellow nose, so theres really only one skin you can do and make it historically accurate.  I think HTC is working on a solution to it though.

United,

I had heard on channel 200 that there was some problem with the P-38; thanks for the details.

Heiliger,

Great link! :)

MRPLUTO

P.S.  There is a mistake in the second group of Panzers, in the second column.  A grey tank is labled as a Panzer V, but it looks to me like a T-34/85.

Thanks and good eye MrPluto, but it isn't a T34/85.  It is a Panther prototype designed by Daimler-Benz that was rejected however, because it looked too much like the T34/85.

Fascinating...never knew about such a tank.  Without friendly or enemy icons, tanks would have to look different; national insignias would be too small to be seen.

would be cool! but no worries, i was just showing my personal preference of what i would fly.  Bader and Johnson are legends, SEAC hurricane i would love because i fly the IIC a lot in AH, and S for sugar simply because its awesome, survived 137 missions and is now in the RAF Museum's bomber command hall.

It seems to me that the majority of the skins tend to be P-51's and luftwaffe rides.  Not saying thats a bad thing but i would like a variation. I mean - why have 23 or so P51 skins that are all silver barring one?

I also think that the SEAC markings would look awesome on the P47

Could prob crank out the Hurri 2c SEAC, but need more pics.
I already have the layers completed, its my Hurri 2c that is in current AH2. Only prob with it would be that it would have the rear skyband on the fuselage. Tried to do with out but, due to skin limitations it totally hoses the whole lower demarkation lines.

J-EJ wouldn't take long either, SPit 9 layers 95% complete, prob is invasion stripes on Spit 9, due to twisting on upper fuse.

O.K Furball, one SEAC 34 Sqn Hurri on the way.

Few liitle things to fix, but about 90% done.
The rear fuselage band is model limitation. Skuzzy been quite good about problems like this, and normally OKs it.
