Poor choice of players. No pure shooters, no defensive specialists. We are no longer head and shoulders better than the rest of the world. We used to be able to field a pick up team from some street corner to win the gold.

Couple racism with ignorance and here we go- a negative thread about those athletes who were willing to donate their TIME to compete. There's no money for this, and nobody HAS to play- not to mention that Lithunia has three or four NBA players on their roster.

Where's the hate for the US Womens' volleyball team? Here they are, ranked number one and the world, ald they lost to the Domminican Republic?
They must have been slacking, right?

Roy Williams knows a tiny bit about basketball. He's an assistant coach on the Olympic team. His analysis is that we didn't bring a top flight outside shooter and that's pretty much killing us.

I think he's right.

what's glaring Airhead is the lack of preparation and effort which is why they are garnering the reacion they are.

Despite their shooting troubles if they had not had repeated defensive breakdowns and hit their freethrows they still would've escaped Lithuania. Those are energy and focus stats.

Missed FT's and busted defensive assignment is just not excusable at their level, internationally or in the NBA.
