Left fuse is about done. Wing at the moment is filler, prolly change it up...then maybe not. Do have to tone down the insignia.

Greebo give me some input. I have to back off on the panel line shading on the lettering. I went heavy on the shading but over white it's a bit much.

Comments guys ?? I get too close to what I'm working on :)

Thanks.

I was wondering if you were going to do a red nosed 56th D-11.  That looks great.  I saw that particular Jug in a photo when I was looking for an image of the two tone camo 56th Jugs.

Any thought to doing one of the mid-late summer 44 versions with the gray green camo to go with your Dave Schilling D25?

I was up in that one flying with a couple guys in D11s and thought it would really add to the feel to see a mixed formation of 56th Jugs with the mid-late summer 44 paint schemes.

I was imagining an AH formation that looked something like the image included :)

i love your olive drab coloring (at least on the checkertail d-11 you did).

I'd love to Guppy but I have no pictures or plates of a Razorback in that paint scheme.

If you have access to or know where I can get photo's like the one you posted or color plates it would be greatly appreciatied. B&W is ok.

Ospreys book on the 56th shows none. No color plates either.

Thanks for the comments guys !!

Excellent work!

I think you need some red on the rudder though.

Blooz both color plates I have from different artists show a drab tail. Interestingly both show chipped paint to aluminum in the same place. One shows an overpaint of the original white stripe in a darker color green.

Haven't got a photo tho..that sucks.

No problem.

Was just going by Sunkings posted pic above. I noticed that the red nosed 47's have red rudders and the white nosed 47's having white horizontal striped stabilizer/rudder.

Was just thinking that maybe your plane was coded same as these. Guess not if you've got other pics.

I'm wondering if the one you say has chipped paint/aluminum rudder might be a replaced rudder that was photographed before it was painted red maybe?

I'm no expert or nothing. Just thinking out loud.

Blooz here's a portion of the plate. So far I've found red cowlings with yellow stabilizers for the most part. Drab stablilizers when it's an infield update from the white striped issue.

From the two plates I have access to the white stripe is visable as a darker green on the one plate.

From the plate I'm working off of it appears that the upper fuse invasion stripes were over painted in the field.

That makes it all come together historically. Upper invasion stripes with the white stripe on the stabilizer both overpainted. Don't have a photo as I said but I'm going with what I got :)

Glad you like it Jet. Hope your new computer is humming.
