OK, time to separate the wheat from the chaff
« Reply #15 on: January 21, 2000, 01:01:00 PM »
Well, I'll make it short. It was great seeing alot of guys I used to fly with,
and I think the sim is great and well worth the price. But the WIC (woman in charge)
says that we cannot afford it at this time so I guess I'm in the "chaff" section.
With AH close to going pay, I'd rather avoid the pain of being forced out, so's I say this is a "later guys" deal. Will be back
someday, just not sure when
regards, Wilton Stewman- Pzvg
P.S. Pyro, Hitech, et al, thanks for taking back some of what was lost to the corperate trolls, it's a great sim

Yeah Im in but I have been getting burned out with the whole computer sim thing.

AcesHigh is as good as I ever could have hoped and stands to get better than excellent as time passes.  How can I not participate?

The Whole Staff at HTC has my respect and admiration.

I am from Texas (Spring) also, seems I on til 3am way too often - may have to enroll in AA (AH Anonymous).  If you figure out how to explain it to your wife, let me know mine thinks I am crazy (she's right).  Now if I can just get her to understand why I should pay .... well that will better harder.

Hmmm...

Not sure if this makes me "chaff", but with the number of hours I've actually spent playing AH over the last several weeks, I'm not sure I'd be getting my money's worth out of my flat rate fee.

If I was playing a lot more, I think it would definately be worth it especially since the game will only get better with time and it has more built-in room for growth than brand-W currently has.  Unfortunately, I don't think I'm playing enough and the reasonably priced flat rate that's been discussed in here before would work out to a fairly steep rate for me.

I'm definately going to have to think long and hard about it, especially since brand-W is releasing a new damage model and it was the damage model problems that caused me to stop playing that game.  AH is years ahead of brand-W in flight model and potential, but I'm just not spending enough time online for various reasons.

My opinion only of course, and I don't mean to say in any way that I am finding fault with AH.  It's a gaming time based economic decision right now.

Of course, if my squaddies end up playing lots of AH, I'll by default end up with an account just so I can show for squad nights.  I'll just end up grumbling to myself about the flat rate whenever I don't fly much.

Well, I'm a bit sad that the betas ending...

I probably won't be able to play for a while, being a poor student.

One day I shall return...and you will all quake in fear when I board my B17 (or occaisionally my B26)...

P.S. - I guess I'm 'chaff', eh?

Well I will be signing up. I have to admit I am a bit dissapointed in the lack of any deals for a long term contract or for qualified Beta testers who have helped them perfect the game so far.
I discussed it briefly once with HT and they were "considering" it but obvoiusly the "free 2 weeks" is all that came up. Myself I would have much preferred a 5 or 10% discount for those of us paying 9 to 12 months in advance.

I burned out with WB's long ago...No Strat.

AH has a little improvement in that regard but still not enough.
I want trains, convoys and columns, tanks and the occasional hospital to take out   .

I personally will wait and see what develops because like eagl I wouldn't fly enough to warrant the flat rate.

eagl, Ping, and HaHa,
I'll be damned if I'm going to say, "... And don't let the door hit your bellybutton on the way out - ahyuk ahyuk ahyuk!"  Just too damn rude.

Instead, I hope to see you all again, maybe when more strat elements find their way here.  Until then, take care
