Aye...no problem.

Maybe a good song but it's the saddest one I've ever heard.

I have no idea how the man can even sing this song as it was written after his own son's death.  I can't listen to the whole thing...it really gets to me.

Good call with this one, i had not even thought about it untill you mentioned it but its really a tear jerker. My song is "Wind Beneath My Wings" they played it at a close family members funeral now every time I hear I get all choked up and people think im crazy.

Third Eye Blind
Wounded

The guy who put his hands on you
Has got nothing to do with me
And the bruises that you feel will heal
And I hope you'll come around
'Cuz we're missing you

And you used to speak so easy
Now you're afraid to talk to me
It's like walking with the wounded
Carrying that weight way too far
Concrete pull you down so hard
Out there with the wounded
We're missing you

Well I never claimed to understand
What happens after dark
But my fingers catch the sparks
At the thought of touching you
When you're wounded

Let me break it down till I force the issue
We miss your face and you know I wish you
Would come back down to the Dalva Bar
You tell them, "that's just my battle scar"
I want to kiss you
And knock 'em down like we used to
You're the marigold
Till you're walking down shaking that bellybutton again
And then you walk on baby, walk on, you walk on
On and on

You're an angel in the pit
With her hands in the air
And we're missing you

Now it's fall and your shoulders get tighter
Nervous flicks on the lighter, boots
Your pissed off poets, your women's groups
And the friends with you, we should've known this fool
Well, I guess we missed the mark
But still my fingers catch the sparks
At the thought of them touching you
And now you're wounded

Let me break it down till I force the issue
You never come around and you know we miss you
Well nobody took your pride away
I said, "That's something people say"
Back down the bully to the back of the bus
'Cuz it's time for them to be scared of us
Till you're yelling, how we living?
'Cuz you got the ball
Then you rock on baby, rock on, you rock on
On and on

You're a summertime hottie
With her socks in the air
You're screaming, "I don't care
Baby, I don't care
No!"

You say you don't know
You say you don't know (You're a marigold)
All I know is we're missing you

You say you don't know
You say you don't know (You're a marigold)
All I know is we're missing you

Show up
Show up wounded
Show up
Show up wounded

JB73... ditto on "the living years". It took ten years for me not to have to leave the room when that came on.

Led Zeppelin's "All of my love" gets me when the mood is right (or wrong).

There are songs that disturb me (Polly by Nirvanna, Johnny Hit & Run Pauline by X), songs that make me melancholy (American Pie, Box of Rain by the Dead, The Night they Tore ole' Dixie Down by The Band, Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald) but none that break me up. There are plenty of movies, but somehow no songs really connect in that way at that level.

Some songs bring up emotions or feelings from another time, a sad time, and a few mentioned do that to me.

Cat's in the cradle - my two sons are now young men, but it makes me reflect on lost opportunities we could have done more together.

When I'm Gone by 3 Doors Down - I remember seeing the video on TV, then becoming familiar with the song about the same time my oldest son deployed to Afghanistan.  It was a sad time for his Mother and me, and it reminds me of the worry and emotions we went through.

LOL westy.

I do get misty eyed at movies -- the end of saving Private Ryan, even Beaches (LOL! There's one that won't get put back in the box now that it's out :) ). But songs just don't do it. It's odd because music does move me otherwise. Something like Polly will disturb me so much I have to change the radio station or skip the track.

"Cats in the Cradle" and "Time to say goodbye

Bagpipe rendetions of "Amazing Grace" puts a shiver into me as does Taps with Brass, a good shiver
