I would like to stay (and pay), however I will need to find out if I can afford it.  As of now, I am in college majoring in Electrical Engineering, so I am unsure whether the amount of time I would be able to play justifies spending $30/month.  (I have a minimum of 12 hours of homework a week   )  I'm not, however, arguing the price.  I realize that with such a narrow consumer base, and a company of only a few people, lowering the price at all could result in the death of a very fine flight sim.  ( I would, however, be interested knowing if you plan to offer reduced rates for those that pay for, say, three months at a time. )

So, for now, I want to say thank you to HT and crew for letting me play the best online flight sim   for the last 4 months.  It's up to me now to decide if I can afford the monetary and time investment.  I truely hope so.

I'm hoping to continue being shot down by you TT, as long as you let me get you once or twice as well.

HiTech

What has changed - early ver .38 & 39 , mutual kills in head on almost always awarded kill (and death) to both pilots.  Now only see dual award very rarely.  Also if I hit enemy hard but was unable to kill (say - ran out of bullets) and he limped off but crashed or bailed several minutes later would still award kill (if i was still flying or in chute).  Never see that anymore. And why two kills if you shoot down plane and then pilots dies.  Being in the chute is just an extension of that flight (til ended).  I am sure pilots were not award one kill for plane and one kill for pilot if he died a few seconds later.  If I get shot and auger, I got killed and lost plane - one award. I get shot and bail but too low to make it I got killed and lost one plane - two awards (some times?). Just doesn't equate.  Don't understand the logic.

Well, I've decided to try it for a while and see if I can afford it.  So, for now, I'M IN.    (I probably haven't looked hard enough, but what is the address to send checks to?)

I too must say that the verdict is NOT in. We (VF-17) have discussed it, and the majority (actualy, no one said go at all) have major concerns about some being able to handle the "GRAPHICS" load, and Hitech's appearent "blow-off" of graphic selectability  . WE have taken the stance so far also of the all or none switch (again, no one posted otherwise to the squad mail list). IT IS a fine sim in the making, however the money involved in systems + pay plan, definatly does NOT work for MOST at this time  .

Thank you for your posts. You "try it for awile, see where it goes" guys make sense. I think all this so called realistic gunnery stuff began with HOOf. He is working at Conered Rat. So maby they will get it right. In the mean time AH is better than anything else online right now. So I think ill follow your example.

At the moment I'd have to say no.  Good game, but missing too many elements.  Bizarre tho it may sound, if HTC comes up with a "10 bucks for 10 hours" scheme, or something similar where I can play a few hours for a few dollars, I'll probably be in.

But I don't see myself leaving Warbirds any time soon (connectability notwithstanding).  The main things I play for are squadron ops and scenarios and historical matchups.  The squad isn't showing any signs of moving, and there ARE no scenarios or historical matchups here, and in fact the current plane set won't even support any of that stuff.

But for an hour or two of "in your face" dogfighting, sure, its a great sim.  But I'm not gonna plunk down $30 for it.

How bout it HTC?  Any "limited play" options?  Sounds weird, I know,   but it certainly wouldn't HURT to let the "cheapskates" play a few hours at some sort of hourly charge.

No, absolutely I'm not going to sign.
The game is still to a very low beta status.
missing lots of things, although it is a fine and promissing sim there is things that i dont like.
I think WBs is still better than AH, maybe not for long time, but I'll not pay for a beta.
I'll keep watching the develop and downloading the patches and reading the BB, but ii keep an eye on WB 3.0 too.

I'm in.  Been playin AW since 94 it progressed well, but it's just too old now. I'm not sure what's gonna happen with Air Warrior Vietnam now that Aol/Time (or was it Fox) owns Kesmai.  I know Aol's been sticking with the pay by the hour scheme and I would assume thats what they'll try with Jet warrior if it ever arrives.  I wont pay by the hour.....ever, for anything, it ruins the game.
I'm gettin kinda board with the simple Air to Air kinda thing.  Fighters flew fer a reason...ground attack, close in troop support, cap, bomber escort..whatever.  So I'm real excited about WWII online and the strategic model they want to introduce.  If that's flat rate I'll fly both WWII Online and this.  Hell, if jet warrior actually comes to fruition, I may fly all 3, but would probably drop AH in favor of WWII Online, assuming they have as good a flight model as AH. Either way, after what seems to have been a long dry spell in online flight sims we're finally getting some genuinely new products.  As a community we should try to support the best ones.
