UPDATE

cod i feel retarded now :D

after the last time i did a windows update, it must have adjusted some settings cause i just found out that it had enabled firewall on the wifi card on my xp pro :o

I knew this wasnt on previously so i dint double check it now.

As usual the solution was so simple that i didnt see it.

lol nice one :) Seems Windows likes to do that sort of thing.

The last time my network just stopped working for no apparent reason was because some security setting had been checked about 5 sub menus and 4 advanced tabs into the network card properties. How it got checked I'll never know, certainly not by me but it took 3 pots of coffee and 40 cigarettes for me to find that little beauty.

yup, that was the problem here too. it didnt show as firewall enebled until i acutally disabled the card to troubleshoot. The guy working in the security department at Microsoft must be to blame. he has caused me trouble before.  :)

I wish i could just install OSX on all my systems and things would work as they are supposed to.
