Kev,

Check out this old thread on the Flypast forum.

http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=16053&highlight=Spirit+Kent

It contains a bunch of photos by a guy who is a 131 Squadron nut.

Note the normal span wings, as well as the dirty undersides shot of the regular span wing VII down the thread a bit.

There is also a photo of Spirit of Kent, with some detail on the lettering you might want to replicate.

Also note the placement of the smaller D-Day stripes in relation to the cannon.  It might solve your black cannon issue.

It's looking great

Done other side, redid MD120 serial number.
jpg this time see if jetb can see it ;)
Still at 1024 texture size
Ignore white blob under the Sqn Ldr patch its the clipboard showing through.
Moving stripes at least made cannons the same color, so I'm happy with that.
One thing not sure of, sqn code (NX-O) over or under invasion stripe?

OK invasion stripes over top looking at pics.
Removed MD120 it was painted over also.
This should be it.
No way round cannon color, but at least they are same color now.

Hey Kev,  Looks great :)

The photos seem to suggest under for the invasion stripes. I know initially in the rush to paint the stripes, many squadrons painted right over the code letters and later added them back when time permitted.

You can see on one of the photos that they added the individual letter to the rudder.

I would think the outline of the codes may have been done both to show against the invasion stripes and against the high alt camo.

Yeah I just put sqn codes under stripes as per the pics. If a pic exists showing over I would have done that. Gonna be touch and go as it is a Spit 7 skin on Spit 9.
Emailed it to Skuzzy with pics from the thread you posted showing standard not pointy tips.
Cross your fingers.
Thanks for all your help and input.
