lack of class seems 2b the rule.....
« on: August 28, 2004, 12:53:22 AM »
Shot the wing off a hurricane tonight, and as the wingless bird went down, a low ranked pilot (top 20, you'd think they would know better) followed the wingless hurri down shooting away, and stealing the kill.

I typed on range WHY would he/she shoot a wingless plane that was obviously on it's way down, and his/her initial response (on range vox. imagine squeaky girlish/kid voice here) was F.U. man(not abbreviated).

Wow.  Not what I want, nor should expect to hear in AH.  My kids love to sit and watch me fly (thank gosh they were in bed at the time)  I asked if he wasn't up late and had school (yeah, i know 2morrow is Sat) based on his young (girlish) voice.  He THEN privated me and proceeded to curse me some more.  (like I had done anything wrong here, I was after all the one who both lost his kill, AND was verbally assaulted)

After about 5min of dull, childish banter on private channel (and no, he wouldn't duel me, i tried. Guess he/she was afraid to show their lack of ability) he/she (per him/her) squelched me.

Granted, I have had several ch200 spats as of late, but not once have I stooped to personal insults, or cursing, nor would I.  IMO it shows ignorance, and lack of wit to have to use curse words.  I may call you a skilless pilot, but would never hurl vulgar words.

Here's my question, at what point did the "community" start condoning this terrible behaviour?  We can't expect HT to deal with this, as it has become the norm, as opposed to the exception, and is far to frequent.  WE as the community should try and discourage this type of actions, and SHOULD be able to police ourself in this matter.

So maybe next time you hear someone cusing on vox, say something.  Ask them to please watch the language, or something similar.

i thnk it would be a good idea to see something like this implemented into the game.

if you shoot em and he still flys and someone comes along dealing the blow that sent em to the ground they get the kill.

if you deal the blow that sends em to the ground you get the kill no matter who comes along shooting at your kill. all they get is an asst for it.

back in ww2 and this is a guess but id say its correct... the person who knocks em outta the sky gets the kill.

Yuck.  I hate that.

What I'd do is turn on the film and send it to HTC.  Let them handle the individual.

dragoon,

Chuck Yeager punched another P-51 pilot for pulling the kind of stunt described above.

I'd really like to see damage tracking terminated if an aircraft has lost a whole wing or the whole tail.  Put an end to this stuff.

Still wouldn't fix the bigger problem of the foul mouthed annonymous.

Seriously, map the record button and film these punks.  Send it in and get them taken care of.  HiTech doesn't want people ruining his game or company I'm sure.

I used to have that problem, not long ago in fact. But now I fly in target rich environments almost exclusively. In a target rich environment there is NO time to shoot at dead planes. Perhaps a simple side change may be in order?

As for the vulgarity, well you must consider the source. The type of guys/gals that unload on wingless NME are not usually model citizens anyway. So I'm not sure what you expected "its" response to be, but it seems consistent with all the rest of the losers that fire on already dead planes. Again, maybe a target rich environment would do you some good, I'm willing to wager your a rook- am I right????

Karnak, I'm in Vallejo, were not far apart, maybe drinks are in order? & BTW Karnak is also correct, if someone is verbally assaulting you, film it & send it in. HTC will respond if film is valid.

Vox is way out of hand these days. So many new hordering noobs dropping f bombs way to much. I can't keep up when my allowed squelch list is so small.  The type of players have changed in the last year.

Yeah ... as the saying goes "The scum also rises."

I was treated to a different brand of this kind of behavior tonight. We were defending 10 and I'd just upped a Spit 9 when a P47 came boring through. So I pop alt and wait for his second pass, dive to intercept and lead turn just right so I have a decent shot at D400 - I get a ping on him and am all set to unload the Hispanos when ...

... all of a sudden a teammate sends me a "check 6." I figure another lawn dart had boomed in which I didn't see. So I break high and look around. Nothing. Well, nothing except the guy who sent me the "check 6" shooting down the plane I had been on.

He had "check 6"ed me to clear his own shot.

What kind of cheap-jack crap is this? Like there aren't enough lawn-dart jabo dweebs to go around that you have to screw over a team-mate this way? What a colostomy bag of a human being.

Yea...yea...you think it's noble to withold names.  But, the community can't help beat these dweebs in line if we don't even know who they are.

Thats too bad, this game needs a dose of good sportsmanship

Just curious...Why would/did you challenge him to a duel?
and how would that have helped?
Is it like reliving HighSchool?

The fact that you said that your often gettin into it on the radio, and that you even decided to post this would lead me to believe that it took two to tango here. blow it off

Just my .02 ;)

I ended up login' back on and talkin' with his/her CO (whom i respect) and we "sorta" worked it out.  (the co and i that is).  I agreed to give 'em a break, and write it off as a bad night for them.  It's still reprehensable, and I do think i'm owed an apology, but oh well.  We'll see if they are a man/girl or a punk.

As far as challenging them to a duel, Cooley, I gave your response some thought.  In a game like this, the only REAL recourse you have if in a spat w/ another player is to fight it out.  Sorta the whole point of the game.  Not like I was pickin' on a skilless noob (well, maybe i was, but he/she has got a good rank) and about the only thing you CAN do is fight it out in the DA.  His rapier sharp wit left much to be desired, and he lead into the argument droping F bombs, so a verbal battle was not gonna' happen.  I've also found that after spending some time in the DA (usually) I tend to try and HELP them and offer up tips and advice, and we end up on friendly terms.

Until AH implements an in game chess feature (virtual Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots would be neat) for players to battle it out, going into the DA is about the only thing you CAN do to settle arugments.

I have my guess, as there is one on that list that stands out as a large problem child time and again.  Although I don't fly for his team so I couldn't speak for his voice, but he does like to say "fu" alot.

As for the majority of these guys you have a big list of class-acts here, I've flown with/against nearly all of them and all are good people.

FA - I haven't flown AH for some weeks, but your post made me realise that I'm not missing anything. Way too many kidz/tardz in the game these days, and people whose prime objective is to ruin the game for others.

I will not be tuning 200 when I come back for reasons which become clear after reading FA's post.

Here's some pottymouth crap that I had to put up with a while ago. (Email me privately if you want to know who it was)
