Not sure what to do with it.

Anyone know what a fair price is for a Winchester .22 Model 190 Rifle is?

Condition is great.

Go to http://www.gunsamerica.com and do a search for keyword 190 in Winchester Rifles.

It'll give you an idea. They'll run from $75 to $150 depending on condition.

Don't you mean a model 1890? I have one in 22 short (shooting gallery gun) that I gave to my son. It has the octogon long barrel and shoots like a house on fire once I got the rifling clear of millions of rounds of lead build up...

Neat thing is that it is allmost the same gun action wise as a 1897 12 guage pump shotgun used in WWII... no disconnector... you can hold down the trigger and pump off rounds...

They are worth about $400 maybe a little more to someone who wants one in good shape. You can still by factory wood for them from numerich arms.

Nah, he means a 190.

It's a .22 auto. Had one when I was a kid, so they've been around a while.

It says Model 190 on the top.

It a semi auto. My father bought it about 40 years ago and gave it to my grandfather.

I might just keep it as a keepsake.

Muck, I got mine in '64 or '65.

You want an accurate .22 that's not real expensive, Marlin 39A. The rest in that price range and below are pretty much "plinkers". A 190 is most definitely a plinker.

My190 has been a great gun for 30 years now. My buddy bought me a 290 to go with it. Not target rifles, but if you want a reliable good shooting little semi auto 22 that will do all the hunting and plinking you want, at a great price, you can't miss with either of those two.

Toad, I used to have a Marlin 39A 'til it burned up in a house fire. Had it rebuilt cause it was my first nice rifle. Lever is loose tho, and it doesn't work like new.

I liked it so much I bought a new one, then traded it to my brother for his .22 Remington semi auto. Don't know how old it is, but it says on the barrel "Smokeless only." It looks like the Browning semi auto. It belonged to one of my dad's friends, and he used to tell stories about how he and some buddies would go out squirrel hunting with that rifle. And among them, they would kill 60 squirrels on a hunt, way back in the old days. They used the one rifle and took turns.

It was my first gun as well, circa 1975. It was kind of a crappy gun in hind sight.

oh... semi auto.. the 1890 is a pump and a very cool little rifle. Mine is even a takedown model.
