I just started going on line the last two days... having only flown offline to get the hang of the flight model, I have a question. When flying, the plane kind of bumps around the sky without my input. I'm pretty busy trying to keep it flying straight and level even with trim adjusting. Also, I'm having pitch problems... I pull back gradually, not a yank, and hold. On the screen, the plane pulls slowly initially, then stops for about a second or two, and then abruptly continues to follow my previous input. Is this normal? I primarily fly the 109 but I think it happens in all planes I fly. Or could my computer be too slow to run AH smoothly (I have a k6-2/300 &tnt1)?
It's been fun so far... even though almost every combat I've had resulted in me losing track of where the bogey is for one reason or another and then resulting in a plane full of holes

No help for you I realize, but this might add to your perpective. A hint, look into how trim works.

Hi Minotaur,
hehe.. I wasn't actually complaining, though it may have sounded like that. I only wanted to know if this was the way it was supposed to be. If it is, then I'm all for it and I'll just keep practicing. The 109 here is different from the brand W 109, but if it's more realistic this way, then I'll stick it out. But I think a better machine is one thing I may need eventually.. I only get 15-17 fps online right now.

Mebbe you have a spiking joystick.

Do you find if you have the level autopilot turned on (press x) that it kicks itself off?

Have you calibrated the joystick in AH not just in the Windows control panel?

In AH go Clipboard/Setup/Joystick. Select roll and move its dead band slider up a ways. Then repeat for pitch and yaw and see if that gets rid of the jumping.

You might have to experiment how far to move the slider - try 1/4 way up and if that fixes it, back it down until it's jumping again then nudge it back up a tad.

Yes, actually that's what happens when I try to hit any of the auto trims. I thought that was how it was supposed to be... auto set the trim and then deactivate, I didn't think it was the same as brand W (sorry). Ok, then I'll try to increase the deadbands and see what happens. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I've also taken the stick off of the sound card and put my ch gamecard 3 back in. That got rid of the "don't move the stick too quickly" messages, but not the above problem.
Also, when I get close to another plane and they are shooting at me or I shoot at them, my view keys/buttons get all messed up. If I use either key or button to look right, for example, it goes to the right rear view, and when I let go, instead of snapping back to the front, it snaps back to the right view. Only hitting F1 gets me back to the front view. I don't think anyone else is having this problem it seems. But after a while, say
half a minute, the view keys and buttons work again. Strange huh?
Any suggestions to the above problems appreciated... this is fun!
