No, I am not, I don't do game the game tactics.

But, I doubt any of the QuakeMindSet Players that fly Aces High read the message boards, or give a Rats bellybutton about the community and developing the community.

They simply want to win, and can't accept losing in good grace, so they cheat. They still don't win, but in their minds they are the mouse giving the eagle the bird.

Throwing fits here and AGW and whatever/wherever your favorite Newsgroup/UBB is, probably has the same affect as politely asking them to stop with such behaviour. NONE.

If you see Ackstars on the Runway at a field.

MAKE IT KNOWN OVER CHANNEL 1

They are FREE TARGETS ON A RUNWAY.

If you don't like being Vultched, take off from another field.

If you see a stick stirrer in front of you, fall back a little more, and work on your gunnery, you can hit them between flops, you just have to time it right.

If you know an Alt F4 Dweeb is launching from a certain field, announce that on channel 1 also, invite everyone to come and attack the Alt F4 Dweeb, until he has Alt F4d so often, he doesn't play any more.

WE as a community need to make sure that individuals who would cheat know they are NOT welcome.

You can't make anything idiot proof, you can strive for a high degree of idiot resistance.

I don't want HTC to spend all their time writing code so cheaters can't cheat, I want them to spend all their time makeing the best most realistic FM of all my favorite WWII Aircraft.

I want us as COMMUNITY members to police our selves, and let everyone know what is unacceptable behaviour.

Unless Microsoft Changes their operating system, we are gonna be stuck with Alt F4rs, and as long as people refuse to die gracefully we will have these problems.

Let us take care of them.

I think I should further qualify this with.

As community members, if someone announces Ackstars on a runway, or Alt F4rs launching from a field, everyone should respond to make their lives miserable.

If you are the same country as the offenders, don't clear six, and don't go for the folks vultching the Ackstars.

You can also chide the offenders on your country channel, simply ask them to take their ball elsewhere. Perhaps the elementary school court. You will see your countrymen/dweebs Handles and can announce them on Channel 1, "Yep DartVdr is parked on the runway at F22, looks like a mighty sweet vultch target to me, why don't you Kn-Ig-Its come over and get him off my runway" type of chatter.

The alt-f4'ers can be eliminated through a code fix. Hopefully this will be in the next patch, as it's becoming a real problem.

Before any of you self righteous "Community Monitors" decide what I can or can not do, I suggest you kiss my ass.

In the first place, this is a game, a beta game at that, so what you can do, you SHOULD do, if for no other reason than to explore the total model, and all of it's features and possible ramifications.

If you don't like it, then you certainly have the option of a dweeb hunt, but just remember that since it costs nothing and registration is simple, those dweebs will continue to return in new disguises.

If the powers that be want to limit the available options, that is well within thier rights.

Not yours.

Ummmm... ackstarring, alt F4ing, vulching. stick stirring?

I suppose ackstars will be dealt with and vulching will always be a viable part of this game. But Alt F4ing is just one of many ways some characters will find to avoid getting killed. The bigger issue may be the Quest for points. Does it really matter if the goofs Alt F4, disco, auger or bail? In any case you have beat him and he is out of action. I'm sure this will become less of an issue after the beta is done. (Of course, it's easy for me to say "the points don't matter", since I don't have any =o)

BTW, what the heck is 'stick stirring'?

Stick stirring is moving your stick very fast and this causes your FE to send ALOT of info to the server. The Server makes your plane appear to flop around like a fish to anyone behind you.

For some reason you don't stall and fall out of the sky when you stick stir.

I wish that HT would model it so that if someone was stick stirring, they would stall.

Anyhow, stick stirring is flopping your controls around and causing your plane to flop about.

I personally don't have anything agains vultching.

I have seen Tora Tora Tora (Okay I have it on laser disk) and the IJN certainly shot up a bunch of P-40s on the runways that were trying to get airborne.

The only time I have a problem with it is when you have your opponent down to one field, and you don't go for the close/reset, you just keep vultching to pad your score.

That is the only instance where vultching is wrong.

As to Ackstarring, as I said, I believe the cure is in Dweeb Hunts. If we get the B-25C with the C-75, I will look forward to folks that want to park their Ack Wagons on Runways.

Bombs/Rockets should also take care of aircraft on the runway.

I like HTs idea for guns, and don't think they should be disabled on the ground.

I would rather make the prospect of leaving a B-17 parked on the runway and acting as an ackwagon, unpaletable. They are ground targets, and should be treated as such.
