anyone have an idea?
« on: September 02, 2004, 04:04:49 PM »
I am probly beating an old subject here. Does anyone have any idea why when I roll a tiger or panzer I can shoot another panzer 6 or  7 times without any effect. But the panzer can kill me in 1 shot. I know there isn't damage mode for gv's so I try and change my shot placement but it still doesn't change the outcome.  I also observed Il-2's straffing my tanks and killing them in one pass. I have emptied whole ammo loads without any effect.

Now I have been told that the connection may effect the outcome of these battles. I am running a high speed connection with good frame rate so, I don't know if this is true.

Placement of the round. GVs have weak spots. gotta know where, what with, and how to hit it.

tracks, bottomside, backside, where turret joins body. depends on which GV and rounds used.

some guys in GV are deadly. politely ask one those guys in the game, I'm sure they'll help you.

Where you are hitting them makes a huge difference in results.  a few observations I've made.  Side shots are much more effective than rear shots.  Rear shots take out the engine but usually don't inflict fatal damage.  Go for the flanking shot aim towards the front of the tank and you'll get the "pilot" and blam-o dead tank.

Also net connect does seem to have a big impact... a couple times when I've been having lag issues I've hit enemy tanks at point blank range in "good" spots, enough that it should have killed them and gotten 0 results.

I've found that the panzer has a weak spot on the side of the turret, where the hull meets the tracks, and the tracks too.  I usually flank to the side of them and pop them when they don't see me. AFA attacking with an aircraft, I've found that 1 or 2 passes with MG or a light bomb takes them out quite nicely

In gv battles always aim for the turret. Side or rear shots to the turret are best. When in an IL2 attack from the top coming in from the rear.
