heres  a  a20c  or boston  painted  in desert  camo  based  on  aircraft from 84th BS 47th BG north africa 1943.
  the camo was  applied local  so wasnt  the  same  for every plane

Umm, what I can notice so far is the main color is too light (tan), and so is the green camo.

Also I don't think you're letting enough undercoat show through. Large spiderweb sections are wearing off in the profile you show, but then only small blobs in your skin. Colors can be tweaked if you like but I'd work on balancing the way the colors show (and how much shows).
