im not really much of a monitor expert .. so i'll kinda bow out if you dont mind .

but i know the veiw sonics are good
and the crt type monitors are alot cheaper then the lcd type

the smaller the dot pitch and the higher the hz makes for a good monitor .(i think ive got this part correct)

asus a7n8x-e deluxe 100.00
2 x 256 ddr  90.00
amd 2500+ Mb   81.00
hs/fan   19.00
9600pro   109.00
52x32x52 cdrw 39.00
80 gig wd 7200 hd 70.00
case w/ 400watt 25.00  (i used this for my old pc and put this one in my old case w/the 430 antec ps in it )

= 533.00 plus tax

i reused my monitor , floppy ,labtec speakers,kb,mouse, and win 98se (270.00 investment here)   and i think i paid 75 for my antec ps .

so im around 880+ tax  950 total or so .

(i sold my water cooled pc for 1200 w/ a 21 in monitor so i came out ahead  , i just have to finish my new water sytem and sacrifce anouther old 286-486 pc for its ps and case to hold the pump/radiator/resevoir tank)

your getting that ati 9800 pro card so ull spend more . but yes thats a very good card and you should be able to load the textures in video memory and still run nice frame rates .

im getting 65-80 fps with my 9600pro and i havent seen it go below 30 fps even in the biggest furballs

so your not really too far off my total mark for a nice gaming PC and something that you shouldnt have to upgrade for the next 3-4 years (even though there's all that new 64bit stuff comming out, the current 32bit 2.0 ghz and bigger  are gonna be the standard for at least that long in my opinion)

Roscoroo Im so close to geting that mobo well i want a good computer im sure this mother board is much better that the one im getin look again

One im so close to geting http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-478&depa=0

I don't know about the shuttle boards for big desktop pcs.

But I have a minature PC in the entertainment center. It's a shuttle 2.6 gig. I use it for a TiVo box. I have Knopp Myth TV installed on it.

Works great for that, dunno about a gaming PC though.

If it was me, I would. If it fits your budget, dunno why not.

Your decision, and they may be good boards in big desktop, but I dunno. Just telling you my experience.

its up to you Aaron . I think LJ bomber went with the shuttle when he built his and he was very happy .

Ive just had good luck over the years with asus mb's thats why I use them as a foundation in the gamers i built .

as for the asus a7n8x-e deluxe the only problem ive had was finding the correct drivers to get it to play ah2 smoothly .
Davenrino helped me out and now i have it running like a clock and decent fps in the furballs

for the asus or any other dual channel mb you only need 2x256 or 2x512 3200 for it . stay away from the kingston value ram because it doesnt like it .. i justed used two sticks of the cheap ram in mine and its working fine .(ill have to toss in some better ram if i want to oc it hard but i dont see any need to )
