Monitor locked at 60hz, Skuzzy please look, ( big pics ) inside
« on: September 05, 2004, 05:28:40 PM »
I have multires running.
I just did a fresh reformat. Running the current omega drivers and have installed my monitor inf files correctly. I simply want to unlock the 60hz refresh rate to allow 85mz which my monitor will do in the two resolutions I play in and run my desktop in.

1280 x 1024
and
1024x768

So I've tried Multires and reforce.
I set my resolutions to 85hz.
I've even disabled "dcc" in display settings and still my games max at 60hz. Any ides on how to get this to work.

One msg that comes up when I run RefreshForce is windows reports that a "default monitor" is active.

Not sure what that can be doing but In display settings I shows my correct monitor name and plug n play monitor below that.
any ideas on how to get this working?

system specs

Albatron KX400-8X
AMD Barton 2500
3x 256DDR pc-2100 Crucial
Radeon 97000 pro Omega V. 2.5.67
DX 9.0b
40gig IBM 60x Deskstar HDD x2
SB!live Soundcard
CH USB Fighterstick
CH USB Pro Throttle
CH USB Pro Pedals
TrackIR
Samsung Synchmaster 1100DF Monitor

I've included pics off all my settings involved. please share with me some ideas or which settings I need to change.

Try this.

Click "run" on your start menu, open "dxdiag", click the "more help" tab and the "override" button. Set the value to 85.

Overlooked setting (you never know), have you set frame rates in the game to unlimited?
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
Asus M3N-HT mobo

Hmm that sounds like something I need to test..

So would that be an issue with the drivers that need correction or something in the AH2 code?

KEv .. ya I've set the game to unlimited.

You need to change the Direct X refresh rate by running dxdiag.  FLS has posted this above as well.

I have never had this issue before.  I do run the stock ATI drivers.

Sunking...FYI...if you hold down the alt key when you print screen you only get the foreground window rather than the whole desktop, nice wallpaper though :D

Originally I responded to the title of your post rather than the contents. On second look I notice from your screenshots that your monitor refresh is 85. Your monitor isn't locked at 60. Apparently 60 is your FPS in AH2. Try a lower resolution to see if your FPS improves. It may simply be that 60 is your max framerate at your current settings.

But if I set the game to run at unlimited and all settings to allow 85. Shouldn't it run at 85 in game if the game settings allow?

It seems you're confusing monitor refresh rate with the game's framerate. If you want a higher framerate set AH2 to a lower screen resolution.
