I frikn love ww2 sub books...those men are badazzz

I have now reread Thunder Below" Luky Fluky...dude..that has got to be made into a movie..

I have have "Iron Coffins" Werners book..also exceelnt

any other ones I should get?

Ever read:

"Clear the Bridge" by Richard O'Kane

"Wahoo" by Richard O'Kane

"Run Silent Run Deep" by Edward L Beach

btw O'Kane was the skipper of the USS Tang, who should have the highest ranking tonnage, but her last patrol is not counted towards the rankings as she was sunk by one of her own faulty torpedoes that curved around and hit her in the after torpedo room.

All good books, I have some others and will dig them out to tell you what they are when I find them.

If you haven't read it yet, 'Blind Man's Bluff' is an incredible read about cold war submarine special ops.

Also, read 'Dark Waters' by Lee Vyborny and Don Davis. It's a fascinating read about the NR-1, the world's only nuclear powered undercover research submarine. You will be astonished at the things they did/do with this amazing beast.

but seriously i thing there was a thread a while back in the aircraft forum about Sub's. bunch books posted.

though not ww2, I suggest "Blind Mans Bluff" cold war era.
great read

My Pops.... Les W. Cooley was Lt.Cmdr of the USS Shark (Fast Attack Sub) at the time,
and sister ship of the USS Scorpion..
He never discussed his actions till they became declassified a few years ago, some of them are in this book.

One of my favorite Sub books is "The Terrible Hours" by Peter Maas.

Technically its pre-WW2 (May 1939) but its still a fascinating and gripping tale.
