Always prefered the B model over a D or any other plane in the arena anyway. Sounds like fun. :D

I can't see why Mustang squadrons refuse to fly the B pony. To me it seems identical to P51D squadron refusing to fly it if HTC limits it to the 4 guns option only when areana numbers are unbalanced.

If you have a dedicated squadron and your plane gets blocked often during squad-times, you should consider changing sides (thus solving your personal problem and the areana balance at the same time).

P-38 and F6F have a real problem there. that's true. The bright side is this might bring early P38s variants quicker.

When they got rolling they could stop our HORD dead for sectors. We may not have liked it but it worked. So I thought it was a good feature. Strategic targets - Are there any more targets to hit that even make a difference.

try disabling troops and ordnance. disable V-hangars if it's a GV infestation.
killing the local dar helps too.

it doesn't stop the flow of planes, so furballers can have their fun. It does prevent your base from being captured, so strat players are happy. Strat does not nececerily mean ruining other's fun.

I'll say again, if there was nothing to fly (or nothing you wanted to fly) would you pay just to "access the arena"?  Of course not and that is my point.  For a lot of people, this makes this difference between logging on and logging off.  For still others it makes the difference between staying or going.

Of all the options that are available, this ENY balance system is probably not the most reasonable or effective.  A horde is a horde, whether in P-51Ds or P-40Es.  However, from what I have seen, this is how it is going to be and no logic or reason offered is going to make a difference.

There is a better solution.  I think many have been offered. The best has been to just leave it alone, but if something "must be done," come up with something a bit more sensible.

All this debate about ENY limmits is makin me sick.

Sure Im a noob so hey what does my oppinion count?

Imho its just right that a side that has a number advantage has to work a bit harder. Why? Imho in tooo many games hoarding becomes the only valid tactic. What it turns into eventually is two scenarios.

A) Hoard A is attacking base X. Hoard B attacks base Y. no fights on the entire server except an occational gank.

B) Hoard B is attacking base X. Hoard B defends base X. It comes down to which hoard is bigger.

When a game reaches this its not really evolving for ones player skills. After all thats what we play the game for, to become good pilots.

Something HAS TO be done to eliminate numbers from beeing decisive to the outcome of the battle.

While the ENY system might not be perfect, Id rather see dynamic perking of planes based on side strenght then lockin planes out. But its a step in the right direction.

When it comes to realism, well Id say yeah it is pretty realistic.

Why? Would a side deploy its most expencive planes vs an enemy it rates as puney? Not really. You dont want to waste your best and most expencive stuff on a very weak enemy. You apply the necessary force to terminate the enemy but you dont act foolishly with your supplies.

Also what this ENY debate is about is:

ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME.

You all sound like the seaguls in Finding Nemo. Mine mine mine mine mine.

Ive never so far heared anyone say words such as "The game has to be fun for both me and my enemy".

In a multiplayer game the fighting has to be fun for bouth you AND your enemy. Beeing extreamly out numbered without having a reasonable chance is not fun for the enemy. Fights at even odds are more fun for BOTH sides. Sure a little less for you but at the same time a little more for your enemy. Next time its the opposite.

But no everyone is just rambling on "ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME" and "FORCING SOMETHING UPON MYYYYYYY WAY OF PLAY". Want to play YOUR game and want to play YOUR way play a single player game.

If you want to play with other people stop beeing a freekin egoist (not to the poster of this thread but all the whinars who are constantly calling for the Waaaaahmbulance).

Just some thoughts from a noob that I dont expect anyone to care about because all that matters is ME ME ME ME ME ME.
Tex

They are.  ALL planes are available at ALL times for ALL players.

Some of you just insist on being able to wear certain beanie caps (Rook/Bishop/Knight) while flying them.

You don't have to lame them. They lamed themsleves. Very poor planning and logic on their part. May as well be an exclusive 262 24/7 squad that doesn't have 50 perkpoints between them.

Damn .... the evil game system doesn't like rookie 262 squadrons! They pay their 15 bucks a month! Unperk the 262!

Nice try ... unlimited means "all you can eat" time on the server in this instance. I'm sure it's a comprehension thing. Keep at it, you'll get there. :D
