Apparently only to the brightest it means either staying on the hordeside or switching. But they do it. Good for them. :aok

We have discussed this.  The decision was to maintain being a Rook.   We are not going to jump ship simply because we are being forced to the underdogs because of numbers.

Just to prove a point.   Everyone knows who skpg is.  He will not even log on anymore during all of this.  (P51D)uber plane or not (and it wasn't all that in AH1) , thats what he flys.

That goes for a lot of my squadron.

You're not gonna "jump ship" ..... you're just not gonna log on? Can Rooks get shot for dissertion?

Talk about going to extremes!

Well .... good luck fighting the system, man. That's how we won Vietnam.

the switching county thing to fly the plane ya want (P38) even gets tough.  the 475th is a historic squad, we fly P38.  thats why i fly, i enjoy flying it (majority of time, will fly other planes).  but even to move a small squad like mine is a pain in rear.  we have switched to nits when 38 was disabled for rooks, no big deal.  log on next day, 38 is disabled for nits, jump back rooks.  log on next day, half squad is flyin for nits other half rooks.  we all get on same side, 38 becomes disabled for that country.  now, cant switch whole squad back because of time restraints.  think ya get the point.  this does get old.  i do understand the need to balance sides tho too.  give me a early model 38 and this all goes away.  :aok

Stick to the topic please

I started flying AH about a little over a year ago. Never flown a flight Sim before in my life. I had all making of a great Sim. Lots of planes to fly. Lots of targets to hit (which actually made a difference if you hit them or not). This made for strategic attacking. Which I think is fun. A lot of people do not so just shut up and let me continue.

AH2 comes out. My computer could handle it. I'm getting great FR.  I apologize for those that could not and or can not run it.

Gunnery changed. Big deal, just takes some getting used to.

Added Skins.. Awesome. Now my squadies can fly our own plane.

Towns are hardened up. I like this - makes for base takeovers to be a little tougher.

"Strat" - what happen to this? The one thing that could stop an offensive dead in it tracks was taken away. Being a ROOK I hated this. But the BISH and KNITS were good at it. When they got rolling they could stop our HORD dead for sectors. We may not have liked it but it worked. I still thought it was a good feature.

Strategic targets - Are there any more targets to hit that even make a difference. Why are they even in the game anymore except to build perks.

Perk planes - I agree with this 100%. Makes ya have to work a little bit to fly uber planes. I think it works out nicely that they are cheaper for the weaker/losing sides.

But now ENY plane limitation. The side(s) out-numbering the lowest team is now limited to the planes they can fly by the ENY value of the Plane and or Vehicle. Yes/No I agree and disagree in so many different ways. Personally my squad night is basically done. Hell I think most of my squad has packed up and left because of this. We fly P-51D's. Enough said.

But on top of all of this ENY. The Weaker teams are still allowed to get all of the uber planes and at little to no cost. I mean if there going to take up the Uber planes against the ENY limited side at least make them pay a fair cost for them. I say if you’re going to take planes away because of ENY, start raising perk cost for the losing sides at the same time. Make them still have to work to fly the uber planes.

Well that's about it. I now give this to the rest of you to R&R over.

This covers just a little more than ENY.  And I even separated it out for ya.

killing the local dar helps too.

it doesn't stop the flow of planes, so furballers can have their fun. It does prevent your base from being captured, so strat players are happy. Strat does not nececerily mean ruining other's fun.

No offence Bozon.  YOu have a great point.  But you don't know much about the 339th do you.  That what we do.

Rosc,  your 70 planes are in h2h and you don't have to pay for that.

blammo,  yes they would.  people accutally pay for chat room stuff.

Darknet, you're being completely unreasonable.  You and your squad need to compromise.  it is as simple as that.

Damn .... the evil game system doesn't like rookie 262 squadrons! They pay their 15 bucks a month! Unperk the 262!

Strawman argument.

Look, I am not talking about perk plans and it is not the same thing as standard rides.  I do not consider someone wanting to have a P-51D, Spit IX or LA-7 squadron poor planning or logic.  Especially in the case of the P-51D where it can fly CAP, Air Superiority, JABO, Escort and Close Air Support roles.  If they wanted to perk them to make them hard to get during times when your country has numbers, fine.  I don't have issue with that.  But to say "you can't have them just because you happen to have the most people on" is just in no way reasonable.

Paint it however you want, but the ENY/numbers/limitation system makes no sense.  You (the general you) are punishing people for success and team play.  I never cared about seeing 30 51s roll into a field...sure, I hated being on the wrong end of it, but that's the game.  When our side had the numbers, we did the same thing...and I am a knight...how often do we win the reset?  LOL.

You can say you are paying for arena access, and while true, you are also paying to fly (or drive) in the arena.  Otherwise, you just have a bunch of guys sitting in the tower staring at the text buffer.  There are no two ways around it.

It's like saying when you go to a movie you are paying to get access to the theater, but you can't see the movie you want because you have too many people in the room you are in.  However, if you want to see the movie you want, feel free to go to a different room...and, by the way, if you get too many people in that room we will switch off the movie and put something else on until the numbers balance again.

In addition, has the ENY system added anything to the game?  Well, let's see:  frustration, side hopping, people logging off, people cancelling accounts,  loss of team focus.  Maybe there are good things, but I can't think of any.  There are people that are mad about it and people that deal with it and maybe even a small segment that are the "an answer to our prayers (whines)" crowd, but all in all, it really has not have any sort of positive impact on the game.  If I am wrong in this, please let me know.

(Oh, and Darknet:  I agree with all of the other stuff you talked about)

Cheers!

It does if you take into account that it had a sudden desired effect and did exactly what it was designed to do. If you choose to stop ignoring that it can be tweaked instead of discarded to appease the players who are just too stubborn to learn how to coexist with it and still have fun then maybe you'll see fewer "strawman arguments." (Are you absolutely certain you know what that phrase means?) ;)

OK, I am all for tweaking it because right now I think it is pretty mucked up.  Still don't see it as a solution to advertise a whole series of planes and then deny them because you are on the side with numbers, but, guess I am just stubborn or ignorant that way.

By the way, yes I do understand the phrase and I used it correctly.

Description of Straw Man
The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This sort of "reasoning" has the following pattern:

Person A has position X.
Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X).
Person B attacks position Y.
Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed.
This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because attacking a distorted version of a position simply does not constitute an attack on the position itself. One might as well expect an attack on a poor drawing of a person to hurt the person.

Ya know Arlo I have listened to your crap enough!  Read the post!  It's not so much the Eny as it is flying against cheaper Perked rides.  Ya we can damn well fly the B model with it's toy guns, bad visibilty, and light bomb load.  We'll kick yer butt all over the skies with it too, given a proper matchup.  It's faster in some aspects than the D up to the 10kish range.  That's NOT what we want to do.  Please, I don't tell you how to play....don't you tell me.  Got it Ace?

If you bothered to read ANY history the pilots hated the B thus the Malcom hood C.  The B was used for strafing enemy soft targets MOST of the time.

You sir, are adding nothing to these threads but irratation.
