Found this picture of Johnnie Johnson in a Spitfire, would you happen to have any more pictures of it? or know what the writing on the side says?

Im guessing its from when he was in Bader's wing, does it say Bader's Bus Co. along the top?

Same picture but more of it.

Johnson is in a 616 Squadron Spit Vb with YQ Squadron codes. Not sure on what his individual aircraft letter was.

"Bader's Bus Company Still Running" on the cowling.

Here ya go. This is how it would have looked on a 616 Squadron Spit Vb. They changed from the Dark Brown, Dark Green after August 15, 1941. Bader went down on August 9th.

So it they Spits would have had the Gray/Green camo but the earlier style roundels. It would give the Vb a different look from the later war roundels and gray-green camo.

Just put this profile together. Didn't do the shading etc.

The RAF's second from top Ace, their Top ace to survive WW2, a wing commander and a later RAF character for years.
A friend of many former LW pilots by the way

He wrote some books, his autobiography as well as the mentioned book "Full Circle" which is the story of air war from start to the late 50's.

Not to mention his autobiography, "Wing Leader," which is an especially excellent book. His modesty was astounding.

It was probably the sixth or seventh read of his book that I realized he was trying to kill the German pilots.

Gotta learn this.
Always wanted to do the Spit V in 111 sqn colours, letters were JU-J
And perhaps a P51B in 65 sqn Colours, YT-Z I think....

Start in Adobe Illustrator, finish it in Photoshop
