I will begin work on it but was wondering in which format you all think would be the best and most compatible? A website, pdf (Adobe Acrobat), or a word document with images imported into it? I intend to include small but legible pictures so I can make references to the game easily, like what the speedometer is inside the cockpit for the newest of newbies.
Is it worth my time to you HTC and do I have your permission to create a manual for your excellent game?
What do the customers/newbies/AH wannabes think about it?

Well, spiral bound paper of course!    But failing that, I prefer the web-based help...for me it just seems a lot more flexible and user-friendly.  But since you're doing it, do it however it works best for ya!  I'm sure any format would be nice as long as the information is there

I prefer a word document.  I find them easier to work with than pdf's, but you would have to use an older version of word so that everyone could view the doc.  I find pdf's cumbersome to manuever through and time consuming to print.  Why would anyone want to use pdf format over word now?

Sounds like a plan! PDFs are generally best suited to this purpose, since web pages rarely print out properly and word files are bulky and difficult to arrange. Never had any problems printing out PDF, they always appear as planned.

PDF because if you have to do a revison, you can just change that, and folks can download only the changed pages.  PDF will give you that kind of flexibility.  Adobe Acrobat reader is free so it will give access to all folks to have a printable, correctable manual.

Of course you have to buy the Adobe Acrobat Page Maker to create the PDFs and that aint cheap.

PDFs generally give you a smaller file size and will help the cable modem challenged when it comes to download times.

I believe Glars maps are PDF also, so you can work the link out with Glars and perhaps put them in your manual.

I like paper. It's nice to be able to grab the manual in flight and read something without having to go out to windows or have some dang window pop up when your flying and block your view. So I would like to see something that can be printed out. I really miss some of the very high quality manuals that used to be produced for games. I know publishing costs money but it looks so damn professional to have a quality manual for the game. The histories and information in some of those old game manuals I used to have were very nice to reference. I wish I would have kept them. I don't think your talking about going that far. But it is very nice to be able to pick up the manual and look at it in flight. So something that can be printed out would be nice. It can also make great toilet reading. LOL

PS I'm out of work at the moment. If you need any help yell. <S>

Perk the manual. These people (folks that can learn) will have a huge advantage over the rest of us.
