HERE SPACE RESEREVED FOR MIRRORSMirror #1 Courtesy of DokGonzo:
http://www.speedgeezers.com/users/aceshigh/Run the self-extration program and extract to desktop. This should leave you with a folder labelled "sounds".
Take this folder and place in you ah2 directory. Remove or rename the sounds folder that is going to be replaced by the one you just downloaded.
Download this file:
sounds.cfg You will have to right click and choose 'save target as'.
Then you have to rename it to sounds.cfg (it will name itself sounds - you have to add the .cfg),and set the type of file to "all files" instead of HTML document.
Place this file in your settings folder.
This file sets the volumes for this pack.
If you would like a preview of whats in store -
PREVIEW MP3 PREVIEW WINDOWS MEDIA From a previous post about this pack Yes - very large, but the mother of all soundpacks is here.
Also a word of caution before downloading, besides having cable or other hi-speed acces, is that I am running the sounds on a fast system with an older Sb audigy. I have had no troubles. But I cannot say for sure that there will not be troubles on slower systems.
Majority of this packs fixes are in engine sounds. All engine sounds were redone to a longer sample. This allows for different variations in engine sounds with-in the entire loop length - sounds here included different prop noises, mixing of external "pre-doppller" effects which work nicely with external sounds now of aircraft.
Also have some stereo sounds embbedded that do not cause problems with the ah2 sound engine.
The allied planes have have majority new operational sounds.
Ge planes have had light work done on the operational sounds.
Heavy vehicles have been tweaked some. New Mg sounds t hat actually syncs up with the rate of fire. New explosions and damge effects all around.
Anyway this should be my last pack for a long time, barring the updates for the new planes/vehicles, and or any other major sound FX change in the AH2 sound engine.
One thing I can promise about this pack. Alot of the sounds used no one has ever heard before in ANY sound pack. Most were edited from scratch, using some very handy resources that an acquaintance of mine sent to me. This included stock films and videos from his personal collection as well as audio clips.
Also included were some SFX that our mutual friend let me use from a sound studio in California.
The files that I edited and created are stamped with a unique ID that only my editing software can identify. I am asking that as long as I am around Aces High, that these files are not used, in anyway and or fashion in other sound packs.
If you want to mix and match sounds from this pack with others on your own personal PC, that is fine. But don't distribute as a part of another soundpack.
Hope you enjoy!
