Request for NATEDOG and Superfly...
« on: January 08, 2001, 12:02:00 AM »
I know you guys are swamped, but I see the new patch will have a terrain change for the PT boats, etc.

Could I ask one small thing, hopefully this is easy to paint in quickly...

Could we have beaches? I know it seems weird, but it would look 100x times better than the green meets blue along the shore. I hope that's not too big to patch the texture around the outside of islands. Maybe it is.

Spoiled by the CFS2 islands, surely...

"Could I ask one small thing" Made me ROFL.

If it was a small thing it would be completed already Dos Equis.

I plan on implementing beaches at some point, but it's not a simple task to do.

Sorry. I thought they were just textures that could be applied quickly to the edges of land masses. I have no idea how the 3D terrain is made, perhaps I should look at the terrain editor...

do this HT !!!!
- open paintbrush ( click start-> programs->accessories->paint)
- file -> open -> select the map file
- select pencil ( pointy thingy in the menu on the left ) then select yellow color on the bottom.
- draw lines around all terrain
- if you make mistake - try UNDO in edit menu.

And don't forget to save !!!

Cheers

LOL HiTech...it's not all that hard. A good programmer can have that done in a matter of hours. And there are several approaches to that problem.
