Make ya wish folks would do a little reading once in a while doesn't it? :)

For all those gotta have my D model Mustang types, remember it  was the airwar over Europe prior to D-Day that really made the difference and there weren't any D's in that part of it.  It was the Jug pilots, the 38 drivers and the B/C model Mustang drivers sticking their necks out over Germany at the time.  The very first D-5 model Mustangs were arriving in small numbers at the very end of May 44.

So get in a B and quit whining that you don't have a Mustang to fly :)

Arlo, Get outta my thread, please!  NO ONE has ever ever said it picks on the Rooks alone or that it's solely a Rook problem, and you know that!  However the whinning started from the Sunday night RJO's and the almost weekly resets made worse when HTC stopped the "Fuel Porking" for all Countries.

simshell, Well uhhh Duh!!!  That's because we are the ones MOST affected by the recent changes.  If you don't have a country alliegance and aren't a member of a squad  with a particular plane or mission.....!  See what I'm saying?  Those of us that are and have are just trying to find a way to live here too.  As points arise they should be tabled here.  That's what it's for.  Those actual arena numbers are very pertinent!  People need to see the Eny limiter at both ends of the spectrum.  Understand, you are under no contract to read stuff you consider "drivel".  If you consider this  drivel and you aren't affected by the past changes or aren't affected by my/our mod suggestions then move along please!

I do thank both you and arlo for the "punt".  It helps keep this thread near the top where interested parties might read it.

All!

That and creating 29 more threads a week about it makes it look like the sky is indeed falling. ;)

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

(whistle)

to Otis Redding for this great song he recorded just 3 days befor his misfortune in a plane crash (Dec '67 i beleive)

Here's my thought.

Throw the 2 week experiment in the circular file.

..for a 2 week experiment.

I fly to fight, just to fight. I don't care about the war that never ends, I don't care if I get perks and majority of time I don't care if I live. I just want to play.

The fact is, the reset the map war guys drive the dynamics of the game. They are the engine like it or not.

The passion in which they do that is in some ways what makes this game "go".

If the tools for their enjoyment are taken away ?? I will submit in the long run the game suffers.

Two centavo's from a furballer.

It's ALL about the fight.in a brew...

You make the mistake of assumming we somehow care about a war that ended almost 60 years ago.

I for one don't.  It's tivia, but nothing more.  WW2 has no effect on why I choose the ride I choose.

ok .... Its time  ... Blue oyster Cult  (Me 262 song )

Goering’s on the phone from freiburg
Says willie’s done quite a job
Hitler’s on the phone from berlin
Says I’m gonna make you a star

My captain von ondine is your next patrol
A flight of english bombers across the canal
After twelve they’ll all be here
I think you know the job

They hung there dependant from the sky
Like some heavy metal fruit
These bombers are ripe and ready to tilt
Must these englishmen live that I might die
Must they live that I might die

In a g-load disaster from the rate of climb
Sometimes I’d faint and be lost to our side
But there’s no reward for failure - but death
So watch me in mirrors keep in the glidepath

Get me through these radars, no, I cannot fail
While my great silver slugs are eager to feed
I can’t fail - no, not now
When twenty five bombers wait ripe

They hung there dependant from the sky
Like some heavy metal fruit
These bombers are ripe and ready to tilt
Must these englishmen live that I might die
Must they live that I might die

Me-262 prince of turbojet
Junker’s jumo 004
Blasts from clustered r4m quartets in my snout
And see these english planes go burn

Well, you be my witness, how red were the skies
When the fortresses flew for the very last time
It was dark over westphalia
In april of ’45

They hung there dependant from the sky
Like some heavy metal fruit
These bombers are ripe and ready to tilt
Must these englishmen live that I might die
Must they live that I might die

Must these englishmen live that I might die...junker’s jommo 004

Bombers at 12 o’clock high

Muhahahahaa :D

So it doesn't apply to you then does it :)

You just wanna go really really fast whenever you want.  That's fine.  Lots of planes do it too.

Why choose just the 51D?

The 339th guys in particular have used the 'the 339th flew it during the war' argument , often

"Why choose just the 51D? "

I don't care about performance.   I don't really care for how it flies in AH.  If I was choosing a plane for perforance, I'd probably choose a Spit 9 or N1K2.  If I wanted speed I'd go with an LA7 which is, lets face it, a much better plane for the MA.

I pick it because I_like_it; because that is what Ive always picked in these online flightsims; because it's part of my flightsim identity.  Getting kills in anything else is meaningless for me.
