One thing you learn quick is not to up a plane until your front end has loaded all the nearby friendlies:eek:

I almost lost a 262 that way, I came back from a vox fix relog, and jumped onto the runway immediatly, and just barely managed to land befor all the important pieces exploded off as the friendly ack was firing at all those red P-51 ghosts.

Seems better lately, but the CV thing is still an issue and the autoack fires through the flight deck    Sucks to be the LSO on these flattops:rolleyes:

"Puffy Ack" (i.e. 5 inch or 88mm) is indiscriminate....by its very nature. Death by friendly fire was a sad but real occurrence in WW2.

If you are near an nmy plane, tank or boat etc, and near ack (whether nmy or fdly), you can die by them. It is realistic and correct for this to happen.

Funny, I like the Tempest also, and would be unhappy at the idea of losing it by this method. How would you feel if it was a 110 HOing you? Or a N1Ks? The perkies would be gone all the same...like in a lottery: you pays your money, you takes your chances (sic).

It is even worse than that...what if you landed and popped a tyre / UC, then couldnt get on the runway (has happened to me in a bomber)...just go round and round in circles like a tank with a dead track.

The point is, if you arent willing to lose the perkies by whatever means is possible, then dont spend them.
