AR234 (Rocket assist)exploding drones
« on: September 13, 2004, 05:56:22 AM »
A squadmate and I took up a flight of AR234's.  As soon as we hit the rocket assist take-off, our drones died on the ground.  Is the rocket assist supposed to kill the drones?

Did NOT fire cannons.  Played around off line. If you use RTO to eary in take-off run it blows up one drone. Not sure why 2 blew up on line.

I can understand that if you fire a rocket it could damage a plane behind you...however I think this IS a bug.  In the real world the wing man would be far enough behind to not be damaged by the plane in front of it.

Yes - now that I know not to use rockets until late in take-off I can lift 3 planes off line.  Was an expensive leason.  Not asking for my points back...just saying the effect on drones should be reduced so people in the future do not lost points.

Since there is not a flight manual with a warning I believe it should be changed...MY view...please no flames...

just tested offline, didnt loose any drones when firing rocket packs at either 0 speed or at my normal fire speed of 80-100mph...strange?

i also noticed that the back cannons dont seem to do damage anymore to the drones...or maybe its because i was offline?

Rog tested again offline.  If I do NOT start engine and fire rockets all 3 live.  With  engine on and very low speed  - fire rockets - one drone dies.
