antiwar scum show their true colors
« on: September 13, 2004, 03:35:19 PM »
ive always felt very comforted by the ability of a bunch of out of touch idiots to know whats worth dying for and what isnt worth dying for. i got ripped off tho. when i took the oath i missed the special room where you get to swear that youll go into harms way only in the conflicts that have 100% un and world opinion backing. http://www.nbc5i.com/news/3719681/detail.html

Theres also sympathy and compassion, which should come before an opinion.

getting in the face of a mom who lost her son in combat and telling her to her face that he died for nothing isnt having an opinion. its being an insensitive ahole. somehow im not surprised you cant tell the difference. as far as "appreciate" well as far as im concerned i only have to respect the right of others to have any opinion they want. i dont have to appreciate anyones opinion. please explain to me how ive got it all wrong.

this is hilarious. first you pan me for not "appreciating" someone elses opinon and now you explain to me that sympathy and compassion dont exist if your opinion is different. did you get dropped on your head a bunch of times when you were a kid? let me give you an example. say a bunch of atf fighters get killed in afghanistan. say they get killed trying to kill me and my buddies. say im in the area when the families come to recover the bodies for burial. i dont find a compelling desire to point out to them that they died supporting the taliban which was ruling the people of afghanistan through fear and starvation and so on. i dont feel the need to point out to a single mom that their boy died fighting for a "bad cause and handsomehunked leaders". i can comprehend that here is a mom who lost her baby boy and shes already hurting enough no matter how "right" my take on events is. i guess you seem some reason or "rightness of action" in insulting a mom whos lost her son because you are "antiwar". funny i dont recall moms having the power to decide weather or not sons go into the military and i dont recall spec4s getting to vote on exactly what wars are fought and what wars are not fought. based on your reasoning here id say you are an idiot.

Well, it was based on what you first wrote before the edit - I presumed you would be one of those salamanders in a protest that would get your opinion out no matter what, whether through violence or thoughtless/callous words to someone already emotionally distraught.

If you wouldn't do the above, then you aren't one of those. If you would, you are one of those.

Pretty despicable. Think I may have to visit one of their "vigils" to share my opinion with them.

From their calendar:

Oct 3
10:00 a.m. World Peace mtg, Soka Gakkai Cultural Ctr., 2733 Oak Lawn. Call 214-559-4115.

3:00-5:00 p.m. Texans for Medical Marijuana - Dallas,  Paperbacks Plus, 2nd floor, 6115 La Vista Dr,. Call 972-245-8334.

I probably went to highschool with some of these hippies.

It was the wrong place and wrong time (candlelight vigil) to say this direct to the mother.

But i dont have a problem if this would happen at a different time & location.
What if he speaks the truth? its his right to speak about.
I would do the same if my country where at war and i dont agree with it.
