Really the economy barely gets touched by this. The poeple/business that are affected the most are insurance companys and people without it.

All the federal aid and loan garuntees coupled with insurence checks + all the supplies and such being purchased dumps a boatload of money into the FL economy.

I'm not saying these are good things but sometimes it works out better.

For example.....anyone know how best buy got started? They had a store or two that was going out of business and were having a sale. A tornado hit and completly demolished their store.

with the insurence money they built two more...this time better.

Look at the historical map...

All the ones that have spawned in that area, havn't hit florida, and if it has, it was just the pan handle..

I can add that several of the free lancers have made a killing boarding up condo windows and store windows... Window companies are booked 3 months+ out for replacements...
PGT industries in North port Punta gordas neighbor can't hire help fast enough to fill window manufacturing orders.... This will add several years of orders to the book.. Roofing companies laugh when you call them...
This has dumped huge money into the economy long term from what I can see... Let alone Home Depot which is sucking money hand over fist for plywood... I got a cup of popcorn out of the deal... Was hoping for a Depot dog and Depot fry at least! After dropping 200 beans for plywood...
