Popularity Contest?
« on: September 13, 2004, 09:31:30 PM »
Why do you guys keep voting for popularity instead of who you think would be the best staffer? Before you vote how about do a little research on who you might vote for. I assure you the staffer needs to spend a little more time in the CT than what I see. After all that is the biggest whine of them all....."STAFFERS ARE NEVER IN THE CT!

1. attenedence whines
2. Plane set whines
3. setting whines

You guys want more players in the CT but some of the ones nominated dont even spend much time in there.

I think that what is so deceptive is that some of the people who are voting are not the ones whining about what you have mentioned!

How dare they let non whiners vote!

This is the first vote, let people vote how they vote.  Even if it may seem non-beneficial to the CT in your opinion.  The main point is, WE ARE voting.

The CT staffers this time won't be people that sucked up or blew the right person to get in.  They will be people chosen by the CT players, for whatever their reasoning.

But that just makes all the new staffers accountable to the CT players.

I just hope no one nominated is taking this lightly and is prepared to offer the necessary energy and responsibility needed to do a good job.

Don't blame the people that are voting, blame those that stepped up with out clear intentions or those that pushed other's nominations through even though the nominees declined.

All that aside, I don't disagree with your calling it a popularity contest.

Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

Bug what you say has much merit and is basicly what I was trying to say, however, one must still be carefull about how people are being blind. So basicly if it fails, the blame will be on the voters....which is my point. Think before you vote.

Eskimo also has a good point!

Oh wait, just tell me again what were the reasons why we decided to replace the current CT staff?

And how do you know that isnt the reason people are voting a candidate? You've got a lot of nerve second guessing how someone else is voting. Make your choice and let everyone else do the same.

Grits...

I brought it to Hawks attention, Hawk did just what Hawk does... speaks his mind.  But he is right, The potential fulltime CT CM's total hours are 45...  and the aux CT CM's is 144 hours for the current tour.  I just thought it was funny how that turned out...  Don't get me wrong... it's up to them how much they want to put into the CT.. but I can hear it already...

Something needs to be done... or there is going to be a lot more leaving... including myself... I used to average at least 10 hours a week in the CT... now I average an hour... I hope this vote thing works.

I guess (as usual) I misunderstood what Hawk was saying. Are you saying that the nominees dont fly enough? I voted for the people that, be it 1 hour a week or 100, love the CT. Oldman probably flies less hours than any other candidate, yet he is up almost every night. When is the last time you could say that about any member of the CT staff?

Time in areana does not equal quality. There are lots of people who spend lots of time in here that don't belong any where near the big red button as is the case IMO of some running for office. Always has been and always will be.

Gritz, oldman himself said he has little time to fly. If he has little time to fly, where will he find the time to monitor the CT settings?
The same goes with ALL CT STAFFERS.

Oldman still flies more than the "old school" Staffers by a long shot, and he is only up for an Aux slot anyway. If he is not there, Storch will be, or Duke, or Bug, or Slash, or Memnon, or Squire, or....

The amount of time these guys fly, there will nearly always be one of them there that can fix things. Lets just see how it all pans out before we get too upset.
