IMO, this is one of the most significant changes in AH history. Like I always said, the three largest factors that effect immersion when it comes to actual flying and combat, is the cockpit details, tracers, and hit effects.

 Although I doubt that the new instrument layout will use metric and etc., however the overall "feel" of the aircraft is much enhanced that it feels like a totally new game. The tracer effects are more or less adequate. Now the only thing left is the hit effects/sprites!

 If we get to see all planes in that amount of detail(which ofcourse.. might give some worries on performance issues...), with the tracers as it is, and new hit effects with cannon bursts and MG sparks... it's gonna rock!
