This weekend there is a fly-in/show in Monaville, TX which is west of Houston a bit.  It is being held at Bomber Field and there will many R/C scale warbirds there flying.  They are even raffling off a 1/10th scale B17 with engines, retracts, etc.....complete and ready to fly (less the transmitter and receiver).   Check out http://www.bomberfieldusa.com for details and a map to the place.  Looks like a pretty big show if you are into warbirds and R/C stuff.

Yeah I am trying to decide whether to go out there on Sat or Sun.  They say that Sat is the best day but the raffle is on Sunday.  I sure would love to win that B17.  I know I wont be able to fly it for a while but it sure would be cool to hang in my computer/hobby room.  If anyone from the Houston area wants to go let me know what day....that may help me make a decision so that I can meet other AH'ers.

The bomber field fly-in is one of the ones I'd like to go to but
Monaville is a long way from Ohio.

A formation flight of r/c B-17's would be something to see.

Sling, multi-engine r/c airplanes can be a handful to fly.  I've
been flying r/c for about 20 years and have yet to try it but
I'm going to start building a 138" wing span B-17 this winter.
