It was not a "reaction".  It was a request.

Gixer, you should just go over to the IL2 forums and stay there... along with all the rest of the pathetic whining children that ruin THIS game.

Wotan, yes, I have it.  I also fly real Warbirds, and as far as I am concerned, no game is right on, especially when you start talking the views.  But as far as flight model, I say AH is better, but that is still lacking considering the limitations a computer game has compared to reality.  For my money, I stay with AH, because the company is concerned about longevity, and not just a quick buck...

Guarantee IL2 fades long before AH...

Almost every game has a sertain lifespan, but some games have that extra little thing that keeps it alive. Countertrike has it because it is so simple, and with CS Source it will without at doubt live for a very very long time. AH has it because its simple to learn, but you can always get better at it. It also has a great community and a staff that really cares about it. AH will survive for as long as the staff keeps updating it with new stuff and graphics once in a while and doesnt distance itself from the community. Im not sure, but it seems that AH has older players compared to other games, and that prolly means that the players are less in it for the pure eyecandy than other games.

Man this bodhi guy is really tough. Maybe you should go Gixer..we dont need any trouble here. and dont ever ever ever say there are furballers in the MA again!

As to how long each game will last..they will last so long as they play to their strengths not their fears.

Oleg is certainly playing to his strengths.

I fly the planes in FB/AEP just like I did AH planes and have np with the performance with any of them. In fact they are very similar.

You didn’t mention views or even FMs in general. You claimed Oleg "uberporks" US planes.

I am not an Oleg fan boi anymore then an AH one but what you posted sounds as if you haven't flown much Fb at all. I will take your word for it that you have but that doesn’t explain away your claim that Oleg has an anti-Ami bias and this is reflected in the ac performance. Take a p51 up some time or a p40.

These planes are way competitive against their contempories. Same with the p47 and p38. The only plane that is really different then in AH is the 190 series which resembles more of the WB’s fm. They seem to think the 190 could only fly straight and level.

The main difference in FB and AH is the skill level on the 32 man servers. You are far more likely to an encounter some one who knows what he is doing in a 1 on 1 in FB then when you run into a horde of building battlers in AH.

Both Ah and FB aircraft perform very similar at least from my 20+ hours a week flying them.

Views are only an issue if you don’t have track IR or don’t use any of the 3rd party view programs. With track IR I see everything I need to.

The weakness of Il2 ? FB / AEP is how trim works. You can actually fly the plane just with trim. AH's CT and how man trim is done is far superior.

IL2 has been around for more then 3 years and during that time has added many new aircraft and features and free patches. They certainly added more ac and fixes then AH in this time frame. I am not comparing the 2 companies but since you are it’s necessary to point this out.

Plus all the 3rd party stuff like PF that is driving development right now. But Il2 it’s a boxed game and there comes a time where you move on to the next project like BoB. Incidentally, there a 3rd party projects for BoF of Poland working right along with BoB development.

AH is a great game and so is FB. The 2 aren’t really in direct competition and many folks enjoy both. I did for the longest time.

You may not like Il2 but there's no need for exaggerations.

With that reply I risk sounding like a wwiiol fan boi so this will be my last reply in this thread.

I will Never Buy a UBI product again.  Its clear that they along with thier Russian development houses are out to screw the American flight Sim fan.

Those *******s at UBI market the hell out of AEP.....showcasing some of the American rides and they don't even ship an American campain with it.

Those UBI *******s put a Zero on the cover of AEP for Japense market and shipped it with no Jap campaign no Jap ground object ..etc.

Oleg got exposed for his "20% fluff" in the Russian rides when sombody figured out how to extract performance data directly from the game.  Holy bias batman.  (don't give me that AI ****).

OMG I don't want even get started about Lock-On

I urge the American Flight Sim consumer to stay clear of all UBI products.

The game will be released with the Colorado and Arizona class battleships but they weren't available in that beta version.  In addition the Yorktown, Essex classes will be available with the final versions-they aren't in the beta I have.  Only one class of Aircraft carrier (akagi) is in the game right now, the Zuikaku and Shihano should be in the final release.

Suprisingly there will be no Yamato, I would have loved to see that one.  You guys have to remember this isn't completed yet, but it is pretty darned close.

Oh, and I have to agree with Skuzzy, Gixes's comments are poor form, and belong on another board... but then again, maybe being a rude arse is ok in your world

I think you missed the whole point BigMan. I will buy it because it is something different.

I don't care who puts out a flight simulation game; I do my best to support them because that is what I like to play over those hoopty shoot 'em up games where you get rail guns and crap like that.

Okay, I've seen BigMan's rant before... Hi MC_Honky.

Go back to special ed class, I already told you the extracted performance is the AI flight model.
