Have a Asus a7n8x-e deluxe.... Using raid with 2 drives.... I have had these go bad before and now XP always wants to scan these on startup.. Their ok but it wants to scan them again anyway.....

In the past I have lost both drives (other drives) ..

Question is can I forget the raid and use these SATA drives as stand alone?  Think I tried this once and XP didn't see them if I remember correctly... Am I right about this?

Can I use these as stand alone drives and not raid?

You can use them as two seperate drives. Just set them up as two individual RAID 0 drives. You will lose any current data on them.
You have to load the SATA drivers during Windows XP installation.

Check around there is a way to turn off the startup autoscan for drives, I just can't remember off the top of my head.
