There was an He111 parked very close to that 109, it also had a Merlin in it. Both planes were bought from Spain, seems the Germans could sell plenty of airframes but the DB60x engines were harder to come by.

naw it was a bastard frankenstein 109, F tail, E canopy, all sorts of oddities.
