The Delay of HL2...

Even a guy with so few braincells as me has figured out what is causing the HL2 delay.

Of course its the Christmas shopping that Valve has its sights set for. When they missed the deadline last december i have NO DOUBT WHAT SO EVER! that the managment IMIDIATLY made the decision to push it back another year.

All to get the most out of the X-Mas shopping.

STALKER is the one im really looking forward to.. but first AH2

I read the THG preview of STALKER. While they wanted to sound upbeat, it's clear that there are a lot of basic design issues that haven't been cleared up. There's no way they're getting their product to market before the end of the year.

I occasionally fire up Doom3. Maybe after a while, you get used to the moans and groans, and stuff jumping out at you, but I'm not at that point yet. Ten... fifteen minutes and I'm pretty well bunched up and I have to shut it off.

It's intense.

For many companies releasing a game in the xmas rush is counter productive - it might get lost in the avalanche. For the HL2 guys, with the product recognition they have, its a good idea.

HL2 wasn't near to being finished last year.

been thinking of going back and playing doom3 again now that i just got a 5.1 setup

i agree with you sandman. i'd only be able to play for about 30 mins at night before it just got too creepy. they really did a fantastic job with it, now we need a sequel!

You guys aren't alone on the Doom3 business. I could fly through the levels with someone else present in the room

Other than that, I crept along at .02mph hitting that F5 autosave around every corner. Eventually I got it done.

You guys reach hell yet? What did you think?

Pretty low to come here, advertise another product and take cheap shots at AH2 for not being released complete.

If you want to discuss other games, that is fine. But at least show a modicum of respect and remember what forums you are posting on.

Been debating whether or not to buy DoomIII. I bought UnReal2, and while the graphics were good - the story line was pretty weak compared to the first UnReal, and the levels were all straightforward one way through... again, unlike the original UnReal.

I remember the first DOOM and DOOMII being pretty much the same as Unreal - more than one way to go through a level, and the potential to go in circles for hours the first time you played it.

Would you rate DOOMIII like DOOM or DOOMII... or more like UnRealII? Maniac mentioned the flashlight mod, so I already know about it being dark.

I heard Doom III was a bit of a disapointment? Not sure as haven't even looked at the boxes in the shops.

Isn't Rome Total War out soon? Demo show's signs of greatness. Should be great for strategy buffs, I loved MTW and the Viking add on.
