(Arlo is playing AH and responding on vox via a headset with the speakers off)

Squadie: Arlo can you read me?

Arlo: Roger, loud and clear.

Squadie: You take the lead.

Arlo: Roger, I have the lead.

Squadie: Cons sighted 12 o'clock

Arlo: Roger, cons sighted.

Arlo's oldest daughter (who had walked up and was watching for the last 10 minutes): Daddy, who's Roger?

I think it's funny listening to people with their quasi military/radio lingo.

I've accidently done the "rgr" thing several times when on the phone.
Usually people just say "What?"

The only problem is I dont like doing it whan not in the game cause it makes me sound like the  all to full of themselves wannabebutanitgotwhatiittakes to be a REAL cop security guards  from where I worked years ago

I gave up on it long ago. Just say roger all the time and explain it once to those who don't understand.

There was a guy named Roger at work and yes, I couldn't help but say roger Roger 400 times a day. :lol

Its already pretty hard not to say something dumb in school without repercussions. Let alone the few times a day I catch myself saying "copy, err, roger."

on the golf course sunday, JB42 skulls a chip on a par 3, line drive going 30 yards past the green....

but hits a tree 5 yards off the edge of the green (only tree in 20 yards) and it bounces to 15 feet from the pin.

i laughed so hard, then said "wish i had film on that"
I don't know what to put here yet.

What makes it funny is I use Military radio lingo everyday and NEVER  have I found myself saying that on the outside..only sometimes with other Navy guys with the same job.

Arlo,
VP-67 huh..I love P-3's..grew up around them in Jacksonville..my father was a reservist with VP-62. My primary job is anti-submarine/surface tactical air controller..Many a day I have controlled P-3's on station for 8+ hours never leaving my console..only to have another check on station..I call em sky camels..they go forever on one drink...longest continuous stint controlling p-3's was 26 hours with no break (sux being the only controler onboard) ate my meals at my console and avoided drinking so as to not have to piss:D
