Amen... + standard brakes that are not as good as they are now. There would be alot more overtaking.

I say bring back the performance formula of the 1960's.  Looks like F1 and Indy were better back then, more different designs, garage  tinkerers had a chance.  Jimmy Clarke's Lotus - Climax had 1.5 litres, manual gears, brakes, no computer assists, just drivers and mechanics.

My dad had a garage behind a local gas station and the guys in the garage next to him were building an indy car.  Just 5 or 6 buddies building and financing the development of the car themselves.  Couldn't afford to even hope to do that today.

I'd like F1 if they passed cars anywhere but in the pits.

Great cars, but some of the most boring driving on the face of the earth.  It hasn't really been fun to watch since the early 90s.

Just to correct you abit..

they dont do this any more, they now use the same engine that ferrari uses :)

"For the first time, the PETRONAS engines will not be based on prior-year model units but the same model of 10-cylinder engines used by Ferrari, thus marking a novel aspect in the cooperation."

Oh, speaking of the WRC, any guesses whether Ford will stop that too or are they just stopping the F1 and continuing the rally?

And in the F1's, one of the best overtakes was in Spa 2001 by Häkkinen - MSchumacher and whoever else in the same corner (and I'm not a big fan of Häkkinen, there are enough of us clueless Finns around without him - and Räikkönen isn't any better... though his wife is cute ;))

edit: I'm drivin a Ford at the moment (German made Escort, -94), think I should upgrade now if they'll stop supporting WRC. I'm just thinking if I'll get a Ferrari (since they are superior in F1) or a Citroën (.. in WRC)... Oh well, maybe I'll just sell my Ford and start to save the environment  and start using public transportation and start to walk... (Damn, those Ferraris are expensive! ;))
