Cheers

Selector thanks for the tip, I managed to work it out.
Heiliger thanks for the encouragement. :)

Anyway the skin is available at the skin department I've touched it up a fair bit. But how do you do fabric?

Cheers

FTJR, is that '1 Sqn' as in post WW2 1945?  Or did the RAAF keep their original squadron numbers in the SEAC?

Replicant, as far as I know 1 sqn has been in continuous existance since 1916 until today.

The Best... go for it. Good Luck.

I wasn't sure whether they renamed 1 Sqn RAAF to prevent it being confused with 1 Sqn RAF which they did with 1 Sqn RCAF - it became 401 Sqn.  If they only served in SEAC then they probably remained 1 Sqn but if they were in the northern hemisphere they would most likely have been renamed to prevent confusion.  You probably know that the RAF renamed many squadrons to cater for all RAF, RAuxAF, RCAF, RAAF, RNZAF, RNAF, SAAF, RBAF etc...

Sorry for the delay in the reply have been away with work....

Replicant, yeah there were a number of squadrons  with RAF codes but the where only a couple of originals.. 3 sqn (P40's/P51's) and 10 Sqn (Sunderlands) that were in the Northern hemisphere.

The other RAAF squadrons were formed for the duration and they had 400 codes like the other commonwealth countries I suppose. Im working on a 464 sqd mossie at the moment. All the other original sqds served in the pacific.
(and I stand to be corrected, my history is  pretty rusty)

Kev, I dont know how to change the spinners if you find out please let me know. Also I dont know how to weather a wooden plane, but if wood weathers wont it fall apart?

Don't think the spinners are skinnable.
Lol I got the same prob..how to weather a wooden plane.

Been playing with this, I guess any paints chips would go down to the primer, whatever color that was.
Although I do believe the elveators may have been metal.

The Aussie Squadrons in the Pac kept their original squadron designations.  The Mossie drivers were 1 Squadron, 9 Squadron and 87 Squadron.

some of the 87 Squadron RAAF Mossies were fighter bomber versions converted for recce work so you could do a PRU blue Aussie AH Mossie from 87 squadron and have it historically correct.

Kev, your question aroused my curiousity, so I took a look around to see what I could find.   In almost every picture I saw, there was quite a bit of weathering where the exhaust is expelled from the engine, but I'm sure this is obvious.

If you look at this picture:  http://www.luftfahrtmuseum.com/img/620/bbm/36928.jpg

It looks like it just gets pretty faded and dirty.  If you take a look at the right wing (will be to your right as you look at it) looks pretty dirty...that might be a way to go.  Just a layer of dirt/grime on certain parts.  But you are right, don't see many paint chips or anything of the sort.

Maybe you haven't seen that picture yet.. hope it helps you.  I think maybe the invasion stripes are a little bright as they are... a dulling affect may do wonders.

Great Job though, I love it, and can't wait to fly it!

Redid stripes and a few other bits.
Updated pic, and uploaded it to ah-skins.

Probs-
1) You can't skin the spinners :(
2) Tip of nose gets color from belly :(

Edit - How about ozzy mossie part 2
