It's no secret. It's fiddling. And always fiddle on a seperate layer. Look at real photo's, other guys work, Quite a few guys here have some real sweet stuff. You'll get an "eye" for what looks right.
After many many MANY experiments that really look like crap you'll discover one little thing that works. And then move on to the next layer..
Don't be satisfied with the first, second or third draft, or even number thirty. Be satisfied when it looks right. When it looks "right" then go with it, not before. Take your screen shots with the best light. Fiddle with light like you fiddle with layers.
THEN you'll see someone do somethin different that is reeeel sweet and just drools realism. How did he do that ??? Figure it out.
Every skin you learn more. I look at skins that I've done that looked "right" when submitted and now all I see is "Jeez that sucks, why didn't I do this or that", or "I should have beat this one up a WHOLE lot more.."
Every one is a new adventure, a new challenge, something to build and learn from.
If you use Photoshop drop me an email. I have a little 1.5 meg PSD that shows wing panel layers and gives you somethin to fiddle with and get ideas.
nopoops190@sbcglobal.netThanks guys !! You make it a blast.
as an example thebest the second photo shows the cowl coloring as brighter then the rest of the fuse. Fiddling will commence. On a different layer
