Hi guys,

I built a simple flame cannon recently, thought some of you might find it interesting. It's really simple, anyone with an air compressor and some PVC can whip one together for cheap.

It's cut off so you can't see the extent of the flame, but it extends another 10+ feet off frame.

It's a lot of fun to fire, it makes a great sound.

Interesting note, if I charge up the pneumatic chamber a second time without adding fuel and fire it, it makes another fireball about 1/4 the size, JUST using remnant fuel from the first shot.

When I get moved into my new house, I think I'll try making a device to expand the flame so it ignites more of the fuel, also maybe a spring loaded cap to prevent the fire in the barrel (that you can see me trying to blow out in the video)

Made an air gun of sorts while screwing during lunchbreak at work with a few co workers.

Keep in mind these things are dangerous.
As an example we managed to send a bolt THROUGH one side of a cinderblock wall.

Yep, before I converted it I used it to fire projectiles. Fired a dowel at a wall and it shattered into splinters.

A little bit of work and it make fire now. Gotta like it.

Whenever I fire the cannon, I always have an assistant with a fire extinguisher on hand. It's not 100%, but it's a step in the right direction.

Also, check out the firing procedure. It's designed to minimize risk.

I'm compelled to ask, are you planning on using this device in an upcoming bottle rocket war? Cause if you are, be warned a pretty mean multiple action bazooka can be made using a 4' copper pipe stuffed with 5 or 6 Roman candles that shoot explosive fire balls.

Hehe, haven't seen those Roman candles in a few years. They slipped in somehow from China, but those things were wicked. And could lay down pretty good fire out to about 30 yards These were like cherry bombs when they went off...pretty powerful.

Roman candle wars were the best back when i was a teen. You needed to buy the cheapest ones you could find the ones that did not explode.
When they hit you they would just fall right off, but they were really cool to watch comming at you.

Just when you hold onto them hold it away from your body, A friend of mine was aiming at me with them, when they started shooting out the back at his jacket, Burned right though the jacked, and give him a nice burn too.
