Hey, Yak Drivers! Unite!

After seeing the responses from Verm's post I'm surprised there isn't at least one other VVS squad.  What's up with that?  You think you're going to hell if you form a <shudder> Soviet squad?

Well, if anyone is interested in actually doing such a thing let me know, because I can help with unit histories, etc.

Come on!  If you like flying Yaks why aren't you in a VVS squad?  As PGMonster says, "The War is Over!"  Form up!  Za Rodinu!

No.. don't listen to him.  He doesn't know what he is talking about.

Flying the Yak can lead to unsightly blemishes and greatly reduces your chance to score with women ever again.  You want to avoid this aircraft at all costs.  Nobody should really give it a second thought. The La-5 also falls into this category.

Don't be fooled by the propaganda wagon running around these days.  The Yak is a very bad plane with horrific side effects.  Avoid it for your health.. if not anything else.

...at least until I find a single frickin weakness to exploit on these planes.

Would welcome the chance to fly with the daunted Leonid-ski.  Am currently nursing a squad of my own into existence (not VVS mind you).  Have so little time to fly as you can note from my limited number of hours flown since 1.05 release, don't know if I would be an effective wingie in your squad or not.  But the concept is great !!!!!

BTW, tried sending an email you way not too long ago (read...3 weeks??) and it got returned by the email daemon.  Is your email addy still guerrero@oz.net  ??

(would like to talk to you about this idea however...if I can work out the details would like to participate ifluff'n you would have me)

I flew the yak last night. That lil jewel is like super glue, once gaining the 6 of another plane, I could NOT be shaken. I think I'll fly that plane more often.

I don't think a plane like the yak would ever be perked. You actually have to know your gunnery in it. No spraying allowed. Ya gotta admit, the godzilla clip of the C-hawg lets the pilot think of stuff other than gunnery.

Ahhh, but if it gets 20% of the popularity, going by Pyro's post on the C-hog, yes, it too is at risk.(Though I highly doubt it, N1K or 109G10 with its cannons would be a more likely candidate)

Big can of worms opened here if you ask me.

Thats 20% of the kills. The yak would never become popular enough for that, neither would the G10. Too much work involved.

When I am back I will gladly join any VVS which flies for bishops.

VVS still need buffs and jabo. I would also apreciate aircobra added to the game, both with US and Soviet camo

Also, VVS need some high alt interceptor. Right now it has 2 good low alt fighters, that is it. I think this can be solved by adding Spit IX with Soviet camo. Russians used them, though without big success, but it was quite many of them shipped to USSR by the land-lease.

Just some thoughts.

While the idea is tempting, I have been in the same squad for so long, I can't even contemplate leaving at this time.

If you need a Yak driver for a duel or something though, look me up.
