Mission night/Target for Tonight
« on: September 22, 2004, 07:28:21 PM »
Ok  I'm thinking of making the mission night a little bit more dynamic and needed some input.

I'm just not sure how far to go.

First thing I'm thinking of organizing a group of players to assist in planning and organizing the missions.  Maybe use a mailgroup for communcations.  Anybody interested?

Next off my idea for Target for Tonight(in a nutshell): would be to select an "operational area" on the map, assign multiple objectives to each side, few optional rules, a hour and half time limit(10-11:30pm), scoring based on objectives only(air to air too hard to track) and then keep a running tally of the score each week on the "Unoffical" CT website.(which the framework for is almost done btw)

To do the scoring, since there is not a log in the CT, I think we would need the presence of a CT staffer each week to use his god's eye to do the scoring.  Also possibly making changes to the map, closing bases etc, to play out the strategy and the effects of objectives being completed.

I also think it would be prudent to have the planning done a week in advance, so there would be a need for knowing the CT setups at least two weeks in advance.

Just some of my thoughts briefly, don't want to get into it too much till I find out if there is a genuine interest.  I also can't do it on my own would take at least 3-4 people planning(I'm guessing) and the commitment of a couple CT staffers.(need at least one a week to show).

What are your guys thoughts?

Getting more and more the way I originally tried to get things going. :aok

Anyone remember the multiple objectives I outlined including even some special missions where you insert or extract covert operatives and such? :D

You are the impetus behind this Arlo. I agree missions would quickly get stale running them the way we do now, it's a good idea.

Your just not the natural born leader type to get things done so I had to step in. :D

Really need a competent, dedicated staff to make this happen though.  I hope the elections treat us well.

With a little more advanced notice... I could have gotten something together for allies, but at this point it's to late.  Maybe next time...

i think bug is thinking long run here. not just the next "2 weeks" you have been instrumental in helping with TFT so far. I''ve already come up with an idea for next week. maybe you could do the week after, if you're so inclined.  we just want a group of ppl to come forward, and come up with fresh ideas and what not.

Yeah Stream I'm thinking long term, building a team.  Making the Thursday night mission an organized, pseudo-scored event for those that wish to participate.

It will kinda be like a SEA event, but without life limits and the planeset dictated by the setup.

This thread is just to see if there is enough interest to pursue something greater than the mission night we currently have.
