Pacific Fighters will launch with a multiplayer mode that will allow up to 128 players to participate in live online in aerial dogfights!
For the first time in any retail combat flight simulation, Pacific Fighters will allow massive live engagements for up to 128 players in dogfight mode on the same dedicated server via Internet or LAN. Cooperative play and dynamic online campaigns are also available for up to 32 players. Whether it’s in dogfight or cooperative mode, Pacific Fighters will provide an unparalleled online multiplayer experience. In addition to live players, the game also includes a large number of AI-controlled aircraft, ships and ground vehicles. Pacific Fighters provides a faithful re-creation of the most decisive battles of WWII’s Pacific theater, in famous locations like Midway, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima, where the courage of a single pilot could turn the tide of war.

"We are thrilled to offer flight-sim enthusiasts the opportunity to fight in massive live engagements. Aerial dog-fighting between live opponents in multiplayer will never be the same again. The opportunity to join huge squadrons or plan a Task Force to route the enemy will be amazing in Pacific Fighters," said producer Fabrice Cambounet.

Backed by Oleg Maddox and the team that created the IL-2 series, Pacific Fighters allows players to participate in the most compelling Pacific air war experience ever created.

“It’s great to be able to provide one place for fans of 1C: Maddox games to visit for the most up-to-date content, forums and news on the entire line of Oleg Maddox games, including the IL-2 games already released and the new Pacific Fighters, which is coming soon,” said Ilya Shevchenko, lead development producer. “Fans who have played and enjoyed any of the IL-2 games will love Pacific Fighters with its new Pacific theater location and its upgraded multiplayer options.”

Good stuff.

Someone will always say it's not '450" players.

Man, just to have the 40 player AH1 MA again... Smooth, and fun as hell.

Marketing, its called marketing. Who cares?

It boosts up to 128 players and there's no monthly fee.

Some of you would argue with a wall if it made a funny noise.

That sounds great, I tried the 64 player servers and had a blast now 128?!

another piece of news worth a smile was that gun flashes are going to be "fixed" in PF also.

"SVGA AW, AW2, AW3, WB, and WW2OL were all sold retail."

 I owe you a noogy.

 Although_____ technically_____

You have to ("had" in AW's case) pay a subscription to play (and WB's "retail" offering is/was a sham)

I've never played IL2 online, nor much offline, but AFAIK multiplayer is free and inclusive to buying the retail box.

" gun flashes are going to be "fixed""

lol. I recall the rabidly, fanatical replies from the Cult of Oleg that the enourmous flashes were correct.

You could have 1000 people in a persistant environment and it still woultn't matter to me unless Oleg fix that viewing system.

AW at its best allowed like 110 people in an arena.  128 is plenty.  The AH MA with 400+ people lumped together is...a waste of potential.

Not having a monthly fee will work in PF's favor too, of course .

Few years back there weren't that many players in MA...
