nash... I am working and babysitting my 2 year old granddaughter.  I will not get to drive hot rods or shoot guns and might not even be able to sneak a piece in with the girlfriend.

I will not be kind to liberals as a result.

There's nothing like the Wagoner Fest in the Fall in Bayreuth, Germany. The many small town bier fest and of course Munchen "Munich to those unlearned".  To walk in the cobbled stoned roads of Nurnberg in the winter as snow falls is great.
and Crystal Nacht.

Beetle, go and get Das Boot now!  IMO the best war film ever made!

Check out Das Boot at Play.com http://www.play.com/play247.asp?searchtype=allproducts&searchstring=das+boot&page=search

They have it at £7.99 and £9.99 (for 5.1 DTS version) - both Director Cut DVDs.

I'll have to check out Run Lola Run.  The only other German film I've seen is 'Christianne F'.  They should show this film to would be drug takers.... enough to put anyone off!

AWMAC, do you know what  "Crystal Nacht"  is/was?

I have been to Nuremburg as well. It is a city with alot of history. (some not so good). The Christmas market is a must visit, even if only for the wurst and wine :)

cheers,

The smashing of Jewish owned stores... Starting in Berlin, Bonn, Stuttgart, Nurnberg, Munchen and Bremerhaven.... Not a good thing but something to remind one of the cruelty that came forth from it.   Too some Germans it means one thing to others a hateful thing. Yes I know what it is.

OK, Guys - you talked me into it. I've ordered it off eBay at the "Buy it Now" price of £6.99.   There were other versions for auction, but all were VHS and I no longer have a VCR.

I also downloaded that terrible song from Kazaa. The robot voice also says "1-2-3 techno" and "attention motormen". Still as depressing as ever. LOL

NEXX - do you have your own copy of this DVD? If not, you'll be welcome to borrow mine when I get it.

Thanks for the offer Beetle but I have my own copy! :)  I hope you didn't have to pay postage on that £6.99 because the ones I listed included free delivery on a brand new copy and also the directors cut (much longer).

As for downloading the Das Boot theme, it seems you downloaded the 'pop song' version by a band called U-96.  They had a hit with the song in the early 90s.  If you want to research for the Das Boot theme, try searching for soundtracks or war films.  The film score is a lot slower and more fitting to that of a submarine! :)

Yes I got the Director's Cut version. I did pay postage but only £1.75, so I'm out a few pence...

The song I got was indeed by U96!

Will check out the movie sound tracks later, thanks.
