I can't wait to see some of your B-24 skins. And I sure wish you'd write a tricks & tips tutorial on skinning with Photoshop!
For example, it looks like you reversed the direction of the dark/light panel lines offset at the firewall bulkhead. I like the affect but wonder what your rational is - just for some variation?

overlapped panels light above dark (the panel sitting on top light line side)

the ones with the light below the dark are flush jointed panels

Ah, so that's it. But, where did you find out whether a panel seam is flush or overlapped? Wouldn't that require either visiting a museum with a P-40 in it, or a comprehensive set of P-40 close ups?

Overlapped panels are rare on WWII birds, aren't they? Though now that you bring it up I'm sure the panels in the nose of the B-17 just aft of the bombardier's plexiglass are overlapped....

just get some good closeup pictures. if not available use your imagination.

fuselage panels on rear fuselage often overlapped.

and on rear wing and vert stab.

forward areas most often flush jointed.
