Need help from experts in 190 operations..!

Since seeing the screenshot of the Ki-84, and reading HT's comment on how eventually all planes will be upgraded to that standards(ie. better exteriors, functioning interiors and controls, new reasonable texture mapping)...

 I have a fleeting suspicion that the Fw190s will be among the first of the fighters to receive upgrades to the new standards. The ToD is mentioned to feature the European theater, and among the key players the 190s, and perhaps the P-38s and P-47s, are the most dated in external and internal modelling.

 Thus, that effectively halted all my skinning projects, but I thought I'd at least use the time available to gather info on which planes to skin.

 I am very interested in preparing a skin pack for all of the 190s(perhaps 3~5 skins for each of the models) when it becomes available for skinning under new standards.

 So, I'm calling on for the help of LW experts of the boards; which 190s of which squadrons should be included as "must have in AH2"?

 What I mean by this is, I don't want to start gathering info for 190 skins just because they look pretty.

 For example of the Fw190A-8, I'd be interested in which squads started operations when the Fw190A-8s first came into service.. which of those squadrons were the most famous... and which squadrons' aces were the best. So, among the 5~6 Fw190A-8 skins under my plan, which A-8s from which squads should be included..?

 So, I'm in need of information like


" For the 5~6 planned Fw190A-8s;

* an Fw190A-8 of the JGaa
* JGbb
* JGcc
* JGdd
* an Fw190A-8 of the JGee in winter camo for the Eastern front
* an alternative Fw190A-8 of the JGff for a colorful 190A-8

 these would have to be included for Fw190A-8 skins, to be of use in the ToD according to historic timeline, and CT purposes. In other words, I'm looking forward to skinning the most represantative and unfluential skins of the major JGs that participated in historic combat.

 If I get that info, then I'd go searching what profiles I can find of the JGaa and JGbb and JGcc and etc etc.. so they can be included as a skin, and the group of skins will offer a choice of the most historical and represantatvie 190s of that variant and timeline.

 I'm looking for such information on all of the 190s from A-5 to D-9.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but your comment got me thinking about the ToD.  I'm sure it's probably only something us history nuts would consider, but wouldn't it be something if you could when joining a unit in ToD, get assigned an aircraft with genaric unit codes and an individual letters.

For example, as an RAF nut, I get myself in a Spit V unit ie; 602 Squadron.  I'm the 4th guy in so I get the regular LO squadron codes, and am assigned D as the individual code.

Then to top it off you get to name your plane or add nose art to individualize it.  I know the Spit guys didn't do it much, but it might add to the immersion.

Take it even further and as long as you are alive, you can add kill markings to your bird too.  You'd really find out who the aces are then considering as I understand it, part of playing ToD is completing your mission.  The guys who avoid the fights and only drop in when the odds are in their favor or vulch for kills wouldn't neccesarily be successful at the 'Mission".  The real AH "aces" would show up in those that completed the missions and got the kills etc.

Far fetched I know, but an interesting thought anyway

Maybe something like 5./JG6?

he said it was a great example of AI involved meaning AI 262's taking off in a pattern, climbing to alt.

i would love a real JG skin with the red/white bands for that role.

The fun thing is, there's not many Ta152H-1s around in the first place, so I think we could fill all the 15 skins with the Stab/JG301 and III./JG301 ... a whole squad!

Stab/JG301 and III./JG301 did not fly 152s at the same time. The 152s of III.  where trasferred to Stab.

The 2 profile books by Hans Sundin should give you many profiles.

Yeah.  For that you need to look at the time period.

1943 - FW-190A4 and FW-190A5 varients

1944 - FW-190A6 thru FW-190A8.  Majority by mid year will be FW-190A8.

Wow!  That is a lot of skins.  For the F8 you might be able to "borrow" some IL2 skins as a base.

 Found almost all of what I was looking for, except the Fw190A-5 of JG26. All I can find is Priller's, and we already have two of Priller's birds in AH!

 I notice that the aircraft does not carry the "Schlageter" emblem with it. Did the JG26 stop using them after converting to 190s?
