HTC an idea for you
« on: January 10, 2001, 10:37:00 AM »
Just had a rather nice promo idea for you guys at HTC
I beleive in the US you have a huge warbirds airforce that flies displays etc..the 'confederate airforce'?? or something?
well i was thinking why not, at the next big display invite their pilots to fly AH? surely these pilots would be the perfect critics of a WW2 flying game and who better than the crowds at these displays as potential customers? It would make great PR for your game and at the same time answer the question of whether we have a really accurate simulation.I mean, who could argue with them?
Obviously setting this up could be very expensive but what an article it would make for the magazines etc? If this would prove too expensive why not invite some of these pilots individualy? How about a promo for AH where you try to get pilots who have flown warbirds to come online and fly against the AH community?
Maybe this is a fantasy idea , i dont know, but im sure you guys could look into it with a more professional/business like view.

p.s. if you like this idea delete this post so warbirds doesnt nick it

I remember when a few Tuskagee Airmen flew WB for a day. They really didn't critique it that much. It was a neet scene though.

I've always wondered what people who actually have flown these planes think of these sims. I wouldn't put to much stake in any criticism. It would just be a neat experiment.

Robert Shaw shared my computer and Udie's for 3 days during the con, primarily flying the P51D.  I forget to get his comments on the flight model, but he had nary a word to say anything negative about it...
